FYI Xiaomi Power banks & Banggood.

That would be uncool :frowning:

How to spot fake Xiaomi power banks: Check for fakes

Verify your genuine Xiaomi powerbank here: ” Verify with the 20 digit security code”:Product Authentication

FYI (for US): Newegg Flash has the best prices I’ve seen on Xiaomi 10400mAh and 16000mAh. Free Shipping (8-15 days)

10400mAh for $15.99 - http://flash.newegg.com/Product/9SIA3EX2YU3270
16000mAh for $18.99 - http://flash.newegg.com/Product/9SIA3EX2YU3271

ZERO affiliation with Newegg, have been looking at a 16000 for awhile and Newegg Flash came up in google. Sale ends tomorrow (06.27.15)

I noticed this reminder at the bottom of the sales ad:

*_Warm reminder:

1.This item is an export product , it is without original number or security code

2.The user manual is in English, not in Chinese , as it is an export product

3. Before using it , please make it fully charged

4. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us before ordering it, we will try our best to help you . _*

Does item number one mean it may be a fake product??

Yikes - I assume New Egg would be legit, as the “Google Trusted Store” popped up during check out.

Hope this isn’t a case of failure in not reading the fine print.

I ordered a 16000. I’ll update here once I get it…

SORRY FOR THE THREAD-JACKING

Damn, I just bought another one of those 1000mAh. They are too cheap to resist. Now I have to figure out what to do with them.

My wife and I are heavy into these portable power banks. We’ve been replacing our aging NewTrent versions with the Jackery Giant+ and a few others.

I decided to check this 10,000 mAh power bank out myself. Just purchased two (2) of them from Banggood for $12.99 each. I’ll be sure to open up what I get and post photos some weeks from now.

Before the day was over I had also ordered the 5000mAh

Pic of one of my 10000mAh (from Gearbest)

Looking forward to your impressions of it once you charge and start to use it. Thank you.

Update on my order from NeweggFlash.

FAKE! Terribly, unforgivably FAKE. Wrong packaging, wrong logos, wrong printing, wrong cable.

USB ports (in and out) are loose. Something is rattling inside.

Not just a bad copy. Potentially dangerous.

Terrible. I’m glad the flash sale is over. I’m sorry I even posted the link in the first place.

Have contacted Newegg. Failing that, I’ll contact Google Trusted Stores. Failing that, I’ll try a Paypal dispute.

I’m hoping they just issue a refund. If so, I’ll tear it apart and post pics. Maybe in a separate thread.

Shimey, sorry to hears this. Please keep us posted on the outcome. And if they do let you keep it after a full refund, I”m sure we’d all like to see what’s inside it. We’ll see if what I ordered from Banggood is as bad.

noticed someone over at Gearbest in a review did open the charger, his text is in russian but pic is universal  http://www.gearbest.com/mobile-power-bank/pp_187685/review.html?page=3

Lol, funny that the untrusted store has the real deal and the trusted store has the fakes

I got two of the 10000mAh ones in the mail today. One from Banggood and one from Gearbest.
Both are genuine according to the Xiaomi website.

I broke the habit of a (flashaholic) lifetime by buying two of the 10000mAh power banks from GearBest this morning - without waiting for HKJ’s seal of approval. The genuine Xiamoi devices seem to have a good reputation, so hopefully if a review does ever appear, this will be confirmed.

Where is the best place to buy authentic Xiaomi products for close to MSRP?

I previously the 10,000 mah from banggood for $12 (MSRP $10.58), but they haven’t had the 20,000 mah for less than $35 (MSRP $22.84).

Yeah, ever since people started buying these Xiaomi power banks in huge quantities they knew they could charge a much higher price. Just look how many they have sold, I think the 10,000 version sold over a hundred thousand units in BG, imagine if they “only” made $3 for selling each at the current price, it’s just insane.

I tried getting them cheaper but it seems like the only way to buy MSRP is directly from their chinese store. This is one of the very few non-collectable products to ever sold at much higher price than msrp.

Lowest price for the 20Ah model is 32.99 on GB and 34.99 on BG, and it was 29.99 the day it released. 11.99 for the 10Ah version and now its more than 14.99

Yeah, I was in contact with a dubios Worker from BG phone and stuff department, he made a very special Price…I told him that 34.79$ is no good deal and that GB is selling them cheaper but he found some bad excuses why this is still a deal…

In my eyes 30$ for the 20000 would be okay…5$ per cell

Anyone have a discount for their 10k mAh powerbank?

I would like to have that info also.
