Newbie question regarding the number of Driver chips: Convoy S2+ (2100mA, 7135*6) from FastTech

Hi people, I have been visiting this forum for a while, but this is my first post.

I have question for the number of driver chips for my S2+ 2100mA. I tried to search this forum before I post, I just can't find any positive answer. Seems like I need to see 6 driver chips for 2100mA?

I just received one Convoy M2 (2800mA) and one red S2+ (2100mA) from FastTech.
In M2, I can see four 7135(35A) driver chips. (Are the other 4 chips are on the other side?)
However in S2+, I only see two 7135 (35B) driver chips. (please see below pictures)

Do I receive S2+ with wrong driver from FastTech?

Thanks in advance for all your inputs.

Yes, there will be 4 chips on each side for the 2.8 and the 3.04 drivers. Your 6 chip driver will have 4 chips on backside also

Yup, Chadvone hit it on the head, all my 2.1A drivers look like yours, but have four more on the other side. A two chip light would be noticeably less bright at only 700ma…

Link to DRIVER

Hi Chadvone and ReManG,

Thanks for the quick response. Your answers clarify all my questions. I'm worrying I might receive a 4-chip S2+ (2 chips on each side).

I bought my first Convoy light, M1, from Simon. This time I bought from FastTech since they have good deal (Chinese new year) and they seems to have better review here, compared with other stores.

ReManG's link, "Link to DRIVER", does tell it all. I have been browsing Simon stores several times. I never find such an interesting and intuitive pictures.

Can't wait to try it out when I get home.

Thanks for helping me out.

those are good drivers and pretty easy to add chips—easier than the qlite IMO because they are positioned in a way that gives you more room to work

Glad you fund the answers! And enjoy your new lights!
And of course Welcome to BLF!
