magnetic control flashlight driver

I have Sunwayman V20C which has magnetic control for adjusting the brightness of the output.

However, i feel unhappy on its maximum output. I am planning to replace its driver with 2.95A or 3A.

How does this driver differ from other such NANJG or KD driver?

The standard driver PCBs don't have any switch or sensor inputs, the only input they can handle is being turned on and off. If you replace the original driver with a standard one, the selector ring won't work any more. The only way to keep it is by modifying the original driver, but that is probably a bit more complicated than just swapping out the PCB.

So it means, i can't replace its driver to get higher output??

I'm sure it can be done, if you are willing to do some tricky modding. But I think it is very unlikely that you can do it by just replacing the driver PCB.

Sounds to be an extremely difficult mod. You will require programming skills of someone like tido, and the ability to add a hall effect sensor to your standard driver board - which requires adding traces or fine wires as well as being very precise and careful with the placement and installation of the board. Overall I think this is something that is supremely difficult both physically and software wise.

Alternative is to figure out how your sunwayman driver works, and alter the feedback part of the driver to increase its output. it Could be as simple as changing the value of a single resistor, but you need to figure out which one, and even if you did, it will likely reduce efficiency of the driver, and may significantly alter the longevity of the driver itself.

Its a very very tough ask, but if your very comfortable with modding drivers to start with, this could be the challenge for you.
