Hey poiihy,
I’m glad that I happened to read your Home Depot Bargain shopping Thread, so I can tell you about Ridgid Tools my Friend… I had been buying Dewalt Battery powered Drills for years, and every time the Battery or Charger would die, I would Buy a new Drill set.
Then in 2008 when I was in Home Depot buying some parts for a project I was working on, I saw an Advertisement on a Big Sign at the Contractors Counter that said ” Ridgid Tools Covered by a Unconditional Lifetime Warranty” against anything and also Covered Batteries! Of course I thought this has Got to be a Really Slick Marketing Ploy to get Customers to buy their tools, because RIDGID TOOLS ONLY made the BEST of Tools for Every Trade that I knew of, but now Home Depot Owns them too (They had just Bought Train Corperation) “The Air-Conditioning Manufacturer ” and I was Really Sceptical about the Deal! :( >:/ >:-/
Long Story short, I bought a New RIDGID TOOL Kit in October of 2008, I did go online as instructed and Registered for the Lifetime Warranty. The kit that I originally Bought had a Defective Battery Charger and I found that out after about 4 weeks, and I had already Registered the tools in the kit online. Everything about RIDGID TOOLS & their Lifetime warranty was still Brand New, there was One Service Center in Nashville that was a RIDGID TOOL Service Company. I took my Charger and Batteries to them and they were STILL unpacking Boxes and Moving into the Bldg. I told them why I was there, they looked up my profile on the Ridgid Tool website and Handed me 2 New Batteries and 1 New Charger. I walked out the door Amazed at how Simple it was and I have been Using Ridgid Tools ever since then, and I have acquired Many More of their Tools over the years! :D :)
Because if you don’t have to replace a Drill, Charger or Batteries every year or Two, you can afford to buy any other type of tool you want or Need, because Everything is Covered FREE for Life! $-)
But, You Have to Buy the Kits or Tools From a Home Depot Store!!! If you Buy anything off of eBay, Craigslist, or a yard Sale, it will Not be Covered for Life, or at all! You may get Lucky and get a 3 year Warranty, but it’s not worth it at all!
I noticed that my Batteries weren’t lasting as Long as they use too, so I took all 5 and Both Chargers to the Service Center and walked out with 1 New Charger & Batteries on order that will be Delivered to the Store by Friday, and I will be there to pick them up and my other Charger by Noon! The Best part of the entire thing, is that it is FREE!!!
I Will have to Get online after I Pick up the New Parts, and Type in the New Model Numbers and Serial Numbers for each battery, Charger or any other tool that I may have to Exchange, in my online Account on their Website. I will Remove all of the Old Model Numbers and Serial Numbers from my account so it will show Only the Correct Items that I Own, so I can Stay on the LSA. Or Lifetime Service Agreement and Keep All of my Tools Covered for the rest of my Life, and That my Friend’s is a Deal that You Do Not Find anywhere these days!!!
Do yourself a Favor and Give yourself an early Birthday Present if your 18 Volt Battery is Dead on your (Insert Name Here) Drill, Leaf Blower or Electric Power tool they are Covered TOO… Save yourself some cash for Buying Flashlights and Important things like that, and Buy a RIDGID TOOL for anything that needs to be replaced that you use to keep the House Running and the Honey Do List Caught t to Date! She will Like you that much more when you never have to buy another $99.00 Battery (If you Buy it on Father’s Day weekend)? Not going to mention any names, but they are Yellow & Black.
Do yourself a Favor and when they Run a Multi Tool Kit on SALE, but yourself one! You will Never regret it, and you will Never Look back. I Guarantee it, that’s what Happened to me…
