Review//Lixada 3800 Lumen Triple

+1
But why with old XM-L led? Why not with XM-L2?? :-/

They are XM-L2 T6 emitters from what I am seeing in the light.

Haven’t watched the vid. Do you have any pics of the light, were you able to strip it down easy?

If it has good thermal path and easy to get to the driver, then this could make an interesting modding host.

There are a lot of still shots in the video starting at 2:50 also some beamshots and shining around outside.
I didn’t take the driver out so to speak, the whole reflector pill and driver is one unit and unscrews though. The reason I didn’t take the driver itself out is because there is 3 healthy solder blobs on the outer spring and I just didn’t want to mess with it at the time. Everything else came apart really easy though.

Are you sure?
On the web site linked, in the 3° photoshot, you can easily read XM-L 3800 (with some blur).
I’ve thinked that this is an old 3 x XM-L Trustfire rebranded. So that’s the cheap price.

But if it is a real 3 x XM-L2 for 20$ it’s a bargain!!!

Led: Cree or LB ? To good to be true
Thank you very much, nice video!

EDIT:
Here is: Trustfire TR 3 x T6

With just 1x18650 it work? Or 2x18650 is minimun? I really like too the shape of a C8 with triple led (and 1x18650 only)

Ah, and if I remember well, if it’s a Trustfire it’s around 1800/2000 lumens (here on BLF you can find more about it like review and so on)

It looks like a pretty decent, budget friendly light for less than $20! Lots of critters in the video too. Ernest T. really took a likin’ to the postum…nice job, robo

It is a lot like my TF TR-3T6 but there are some minor differences inside with the driver springs, as I say I didn’t have the driver all the way out. It is slightly brighter also then the Trustfire is to the eye. It will only work with 2 or 3 cells.

I am no photographer and not an expert on lattice bright, so here are a couple of pictures of the emiiters in the light.

Thank you very much Robo

:frowning:

Thanks for the review! Looks like it really puts out a ton of light even if it’s not really 3800. Hard to beat for $20.

For $20 it is a pretty decent one and yes it puts out a good amount of light to around 200 yards, but it IS a flooder not a thrower.

[stupid question on]
So this is much better than Trusftire TR, righ?
[stupid question off]

I ask it because 2 years ago I’ve thinked to buy the Trusfire, but never do it.
When I’ve saw your review of Lixada and the photos on TOMTOP site, assembled with 1x18650 too, I’ve said: “wow! Finally it’s time to pull the trigger” :sunglasses:
But then on specifications I’ve read: Battery Configurations: 2 18650 3.7V* so…. :frowning:

It is a little brighter to the eye than the TF, build quality about the same I would say.

The configuration on the TomTop site shows with the battery tube is misleading , as with the tube in that configuration the 18650 is at least a full inch too short to use the light that way. It will only work with 2 cells (or 3 if you have a second extension tube).

Thanks for the review, Robo. The Trustfire TR 3T6 is a flashlight I have been considering and this seems basically a cone. But, I think am going to save my pennies, waiting for the Maxtoch 2X. However this triple has a nice broad, floody beam with some distance to it and it looks like a useful flashlight. Your reviews do a good job of demonstrating a flashlight’s capabilities at varying distances. Very helpful.

Glad to do the reviews MB. Yes it is a low cost flooder with decent quality and decent output.

Really? Glad I hadn’t ordered one yet then.

Thank you very much for this important clarification!

So no way to work with just one 18650… :frowning:
I got to build a triple by myself…

edit:

that’s true

Maybe with a spacer between the battery and springs?
Or putting 2xCr123 or…I don’t know… 2x18500 are too short.

The Lixada arrived with the tube extension (to work with 3x18650) or only with the 2x18650 tube?

Only the 2 cell tube configuration arrived.

Very nice to see this C8 on steroids
But I must say, I really like the fact that there are flooders with cells not in series.

would it work with one cell?

The proportions are strange, thickness of tube is odd. Not crazy about the large spring ground connection a la p60 either. I wonder if the short tube is for 2 X 18500.
