A little beamshot comparison of my decent Thrower material.

Recently I got two new aspherical Zoomies, one Uniquefire 1504 and one 1405, that both get’s a little pimp up from my good TLF fellow
Mr. Kenjii. And btw. these are not the only ones he put his magic hands on.
Anyway it felt like it’s a good time to get some guns loaded, and get a look on how they mess up.

An impression of the target at daylights:

It’s a 165 m high cooling tower from a coal-fired power plant in our area.
The beam distance is about 580 m /* +*-

First picture of every flashlight is in natural distance , the second one is with 11 x optical zoom.

So I hope you enjoy it, at least a little bit.
Comments, critiques or questions are welcome

Maybe from time to time I will add a few more.

With best regards.

Looks good, I like seeing what other lights do.

Very nice.

I bet shining a bunch of lights on a nuclear plant cooling tower may have raised a few eyebrows though, lol! :open_mouth:

Fantastic comparison of your lights. Great pictures too, I like seeing what these numbers look like in “real life”. looking forward to more comparison’s.

An excellent work here!

Last year I spend a balmy summernight with some of the flashlights from the thread opening and some other ones
at the banks of Lower Rhine river.

From the choosed place for these beamshots, which is a bit diagonal shifted southwards, we have a beam distance of ca. 530 meters. (by measuring tool of Google Earth). First picture of every flashlight is in natural distance , the second one is with 11 x optical zoom.

What a fantastic job.

Thank you for the photos.

Great comparison photos! That’s not easy to do. I get a kick out of seeing the neat, square die of the emitter in these aspherical beamshots. I could almost read the serial number in a couple of those shots! LOL

Aspheric 450 kcd beam:

Vs 550 kcd reflector:

My 280 kcd aspherics visually outthrows my 340kcd reflector… Especially on longer distances.

Aspheric beam has sharp borders, so there is better contrast between illuminated area and dark area. The enhanced contrast lets us to perceive it brighter and further in the night.

Perfect pictures!

Are there really houses that close to a power plant?

excellent work

Very nice comparison shots! I always find it amazing how far those tiny xp-g2 emitters throw.

It’s spring time,

and the last night has been a pretty nice one, so I take the chance for some beamshots from a little selection
with some of my smaller sized flashlights.

Whow!

Very nice. Thanks for posting these up. You have some lights that throw very well.

Great jobs, thanks for detail comparison

Ach die Liebe!

Nice shots, thanks for doing this.

Love a happy ending.
Thanks for beamshots, enjoyed going through them.

Update: - Riverbeamshots 2016 -

To get some more beam distance, here I choose a place with longer diagonal to the target. From there it should be around 600 m.
First pic is normal distance, secound pic is with 11x optical zoom. Camera setting: manual mode - iso 100 - time 4 s - blend F 5.0
