The most you have spent on one flashlight?

how about this one: https://shop.muyshondt.net/collections/aeon-mk-iii/products/aeon-mk-iii-opus

Is it meant to be good? looks expensive for the specs you get?

Spent close to $300 on an HID light, seven or eight years ago.

More recently, the most expensive flashlight that I bought was the Nitecore TM16GT (price not disclosed because of MAP).

However, the individual purchases quickly add up. From August, when I re-started this hobby, until now; flashlight purchases have run $1600 - about half of which I’ve recouped by selling or trading them. Flashlight related items (batteries, chargers, holsters, hosts, drivers, filters, lenses, LED’s, reflectors, springs, soldering tools, supplies and accessories) have run an additional $800.

About as much as I used to spend on golf.

Much less than I used to spend on collecting watches or antiquarian books. }

The Unique fire 1401 cost me $49,99 but did arrive DOA, Gearbest send me a new one (not in :() for $20 so $69,99 for a working and a host is most expensive.

I think my most expensive, IIRC, was a Meteor plus batteries. Not sure if it counts as over $200 because of the batteries.

I’d love to get some of (or even just one of) the four-digit custom premium lights like one made of mokune gane, but they’re just too expensive.

Yup, that was my most expensive purchase too.

I’m looking forward to buying a Noctigon Meteor soon.

For me $50 is my reasonable limit for the light. It gives good output and quality, while it does not ruin the home budget.

I spent in the past something like $60 on two lights, but now I would rather not do that. Unless it’s really extraordinary…but noing above $60 for sure.

I have a Surefire (BLF what?) 6p led that I bored out meself for 18650, then bought a EDC+ X60L3 Nichia 219 triple P60 drop in when they were available. Then a McClicky switch and brass retaining ring. Grand total around $160ish. Kind of cool but so outclassed by other less expensive lights.

If I knew then what I know now kind of a thing I suppose. Idk if this should count here anyway because it’s made up of different parts, but the Surefire alone is more than I’ve ever spent on an individual light IIRC.

That light wouldn’t be one made from Mokume would it?

I have numerous lights in the $300 range but I still haven’t brought myself to drop enough money to buy a Tain Hyperlux or even a Tain Nova.

Why yes, yes it would!

Sometimes the original purchase price is only part of it, start adding tritium vials and listen to the bling bling add up… I even bought an exotic piece of leather to make a carry holster for the Mokume light, should be here today…

haha I thought it might be!

I got a quote for one but with everything added to it I just couldn’t justify it at the moment. Would love to get one in the future.

$499 for custom light from electrolumens and $300-350 for some of my Lambda lights.

In 2009-2010 , I bought a Olight M30 Triton—-$110.

Haven’t spent that much for a light since then ! :–5

deftx ~$600-700 for the preorder IIRC.

worth every penny as I sold it a year later for $900

Do mailing and customs costs, back and forth because of failure, count? If so, I’ve had the displeasure of spending US $120 on a CR123 minitorch.

ADDENDUM: If not, then it was $50, the cost of my faithful TN12 2014.

  1. I tried to buy a 3 x C POP lite 73 for $63, but it was out of stock.
  1. A Maratac CR123A.
  1. A POP lite 632, for $43 shipped, with Qlite parts on one side of a BLF 16 x 7135 board and an XP-L.
  1. A Warsun zoomy 3 x AA that I converted to 3 x 14500. The host was around $15, and I used a buck driver and an XHP 50. The biggest cost was the drivers that didn’t work or that I didn’t like.

An other candidate is the Tekna Microlith that I bought maybe in the 1980s for backpacking. It was around $20, but depending on what inflation factor one uses, it might have been the most expensive.

Wow, I felt the M43 Meteor was expensive, but with seeing the other posts here, realize it may be a budget light after all!

The M43 is worth it to me, and I will buy another someday…

Yea I would like a m43 the basic version is $250 AUD maybe one day. Like I spent a bit on getting a good multimeter but I will use it around the house and on cars so I will get a lot of use out of it.

I just bought a new solder one with a temperature control and parts for my convoy L2. but I went tight on the parts lol I got a new xpl hi on a copper board and a new driver plus add in a retaining ring and some thermal paste so in total now for that light is almost at $80 AUD. I want to put the XPLHI from the l2 in a c8 I have and I will keep the xml incase I need it later… First time I have ever bought parts so I got a second xpl and a few extra drivers I got some 7135 board and some 7135 chips so I can practice my soldering but that is cheap. Gives me some thing to do.

I bought a 2 D Maglite with a XM-L2 led and four 32650 batteries from Jayrob on CPF about four years ago, for a total of $338 with shipping .
