Panasonic recalls laptop battery packs due to fire hazard

Members harvesting laptop batteries might want to know about this; apologies if the info was already posted. There was some info 2 years ago but this is in a lot of news sources now so maybe it is a different recall. Here is one article:

The basics:

The recall is for battery packs in CF-S10 Series laptops sold in 2011, 2012 and 2013. Conductive foreign material was mixed into the battery cells during manufacturing, posing a risk of fire. The battery packs have model numbers CF-VZSU61U or CF-VZSU61R, with one of these lot numbers: BAW, BBX, BC, C1, or C2.

Hopefully members here would be cautions enough when harvesting these to prepare for dangers, but if the individual cells are compromised rather than the packs, that is not good.

The good news is that if you have one, you can get a free replacement. Call Panasonic toll-free at (844) 663-1030 or visit http://business.panasonic.com/support-computerstablets-support-cfs10recall

Thank you for taking the time to bring this out!

You probably just saved someone’s life, eventually.
