Home Depot Deal Alerts & Discussion Thread

I think at a local HD here in Virginia I tried scanning yellow-tag items and the app showed me full price rather than the yellow-tag price. I’ll try again when I have a chance.

Everything is getting more difficult. Sales are less global, etc. There are now even different price codes, for instance some stuff when going on clearance have prices that end in “4” and then with a “2”. In those instances, the move from the “4” price to the “2” price is quicker than the move from the “6” to the “3”
And then I come across something like this. A storage box that went from $3.88 to 97 cents.

That is approximately 75% off but the price is not $1.03. It is definitely getting harder to make perfect sense of all this.

Here is something I forgot about. This 3C Huskly light it $19.97 and is 500 Lumen. I would have expected it to be an XM-L2 but it looks to be an XP-G2. Must be driven fairly hard for a retail store light, I don’t know how long this light has been available, I probably never paid much attention to it.

The reason it caught my eye this time is because right next to this display is another display with this same light paired with another light that runs of 3-AAA. This pair of lights has gone on clearance with the “6” price of $14.06

I stood there and thought to myself, what would I rather have, 1 light for $20 or 2 lights for $6 less. That was what I was thinking when I decided to buy the pair. D.O.B on the sticker is 1/25/16, in about a week or so this could go to the “3” price. I am guessing around $5.03
They are were in the back of this store and I only noticed them as I exited the restrooms.
$14.06 on the left and $19.97 on the right.

My first flashlight clearance find!

The coast lantern looks interesting, i wonder what batteries and LEDs it runs on
3-4AA would be perfect

Edit: 4C batteries and 60 lumens is not promising :frowning:

Oh i forgot to mention; the Home Depot cups (the plastic mug at least, but I think also the metal thermos) have gone down to $1 from $3 so they should probably go down to a penny soon like the clear cups and water bags did.

Here ya go

Yes, at first I picked up one of the lights which are in my picture and it rang up to $30 and some cents. The tag on them is wrong, and as you can see they are 1700 lumens. These are outdoor rated lights and didn’t come with a cord. I went back to return it and found the actual light which the sticker in my picture belongs to, on the same clearance rack and bought it.
The one I bought is a 2900 lumen light with a power cord and a swtich and rang up at $25.03:

Here are some new deals I found yesterday:

Any of these worth picking up?

I bought the armor max 3c for $11 at my HD hoping for a mod project.

deathless, I think you may like the ArmourMax 3D for $15
I tried to get that deal on the LED strip lights you got. Every store I tried had plenty, but at full list price. I want that light!

As to who supplied Home Depot with the Defiant flashlights, it was Brinkmann. Brinkmann lost the Home Depot account and that helped push them into bankrupcy. I searched the internet and it looks like we may see Defiant flashlights, Brinkmann grills and Malibu lighting in Sears and KMart. They bought the inventory at auction.
Here is a link to an auction for a Brinkmann- Defiant spot light.

Are you serious? This is like the Holy Grail of mod-able Maglites.
Admittedly though, I’m an unapologetic, non-recovering Magaholic.
That’s a good price. I need to hit the flashlight isle more often.

What is good to mod about the silver xenon Maglights?
Thx in adv.

Actually any incandescent Maglite is a good host for modding. I just like the 2D size because with minor machining to the tail cap it will fit two big LION batteries. With those big LIONs you can push hard on any emitter and still maintain long run times.

For me it started when somebody on Candle Power Forums posted a thread on how to install a P4 emitter in a Maglite. Somewhere around that time Setapong (on Candle power forums) also started making H22A aluminum heatsinks for the Maglites.

Setapong made it possible for literally thousands of people to modify their own lights. I just checked and he still has an active thread selling Maglite heatsinks. My current projects will require solid copper heatsinks though so I’m on my own on that project.

Stopped by my Home Depot yesterday and those carts are in fact $89. No other deals found except that I saw the 3D ArmorMax lights this time for $15. Saw no florescent fixtures marked down at all.

Garry, I was traveling all day yesterday and stopped by 6 Home Depots. I had copies of the UPC codes for the 3D ArmourMax $15, the twin pack of Maglite Pros $20 , the Husky 2 set flashlights at $14.06 and the Husky cart that lists for $89. Those 6 stores were in CT, NY, PA and Ohio. Each store had the same prices except that 2 stores had penny prices for the Husky cart. They must have cleared them out. Go figure

i’m going right now to look for penny deals.

Sometimes I wonder if it’s worth hunting for penny deals. I’m about to give up on my store.

i was just kidding and decided i did not want to give anyone any illegal ideas so plz delete your post

Garry, please edit out your quote. Only you can do that, LOL

Printing up barcodes and using them to buy stuff is larceny and will land whoever in jail.
We all know that I just use them to price check.
BTW, every once in awhile I will read about someone getting arrested for doing just that.

As an aside, the 2 stores that had the Husky carts scanning at a penny didn’t have any.
And I was glad. I would never have tried to scan that big box at the self checkout, and if there was one that I had to leave behind, it would have bothered me for days. >-)
