Review Thorfire VG 25

This light was provided for review by Thorfire.
As with all my Thorfire lights I have so far, this one is a very good quality built light.

I did not cover it in the video , but I wanted to mention the turbo mode steps down after 3 minutes to high mode. After 30 minutes of continuous use the light will step down from high mode to medium mode. Also even though I took pictures of it, I did not mention in the video that the reflector is actually a screw in reflector.

EDIT: The original tailcap readings went from 3.19 to 3.52 with the driver spring bypassed.(Using the Uni-T clamp meter from GB)

I have had some people ask me if I have pictures of the light when I do a review. These are the ones who do not seem to actually watch the videos, as there are still shots of the light teardown , as well as beamshots and shining around outside and me telling about the light in all my videos. You can find all the pictures I took of the light in the video (slideshow format) and the beamshots starting at 4:59 in the video, if you do not want to watch the whole thing. Thanks in advance.

The video (best watched in full screen) and then the specs following that……………

Robo, thanks for the link-notes to stills and beamshots. I’m one of those who just doesn’t have the time to watch every review video so that helps me see what I’m looking for as well as may entice me to see the whole video if I like what I see.

I wish everybody would do this!

Phil

Not a problem. I kind of figure a lot of people either don’t have time to watch or just don’t care to watch a video. This is the reason I put the stills of the light and the beamshots in all my videos is so the ones looking for the teardown and what the internals look like can reference that. This is the first time however I have mentioned that the stills and the beamshots are in my videos as far as I can remember, other than when I was asked for pictures of the light.

With that thick cooling section one would expect them to just make the head bigger, the bigger size it there so why not use it.

I kinda of had the same thought about the bigger head, but you never know, they may have done it for a reason………lol

Thanks robo, Very odd looking design. Like the cigar ring, not sure I like it fixed to battery tube.

The cigar ring actually unscrews and comes off if you don’t want it there.
