GearBest shipping issues survey in BLF

Hi tas69,

Thanks for info re Canada Post.

Well I phoned the general number 866 607 6301. And went through menu…1 English…1 residential service… 2 report trackable item…1 not been delivered yet.

Then the automated system invites you to enter tracking number on phone. I entered 4 different numbers. The reply each time was: “This is an inbound international item which cannot be tracked through this automated service. Online tracking information is not available for this product. Please contact the sender or origin post”.

Three of the items were sent about Mar 6.

If you have another phone number and have tips how to navigate or get a live person, I would appreciate it.

What I have done before is go through their frustrating system and finally found a option for a live person. They don’t let you dial 0 and get straight to operator. Just keep going through the options, they really hide it (seriously, they don’t want us to call). Canada Post has to scan the registered mail at every point that a registered mail item usually has to be scanned. That they don’t allow us to see that information anymore, does not mean they don’t have it.

I’ve heard that as well before although, the only time I tried to call and got someone, the CS said he didn’t have the info.
What I don’t get is that if they still need to scan anyway, then the system will automatically update the tracking info, so why not just simply display it like before. It doesn’t make sense :confused:
I though the whole point was for them not to scan and save their precious overpaid time.

This is a little off topic, but I think it had to do with the volume of China originating packages coming through and the extra expense to Canada Post. I think its kinda stupid, they had it operating and then they switched the checking part off on their website. But I’ve had to sign for packages at the door, so there must be some paper trail (tracking) when it enters Canada.

That might just be delivery confirmation, not registered mail where each hop is tracked. I haven’t seen tracking from China work in Canada, though I think it might give a final delivered notification. Tracking from the US works fine in Canada, so it appears that it’s just the overseas stuff that Canada Post doesn’t bother with.

Does anyone know if tracking works in Canada if you order something with registered mail from China? Can you even do that?

If you enter multiple tracking numbers on canadapost.ca (or just duplicate the same number multiple times - go figure…), you do get a list with the date+time the status of each item has updated. The status itself is not shown.

Sometimes this is useful to see if there is any progress after the tracking of the international carrier has stopped at the border. If I get a noon update, I know I probably have something waiting at the local post office.

Thanks DEL for your info.

It seems to work for me best when I enter the same (foreign) tracking number on 4 lines at the Canada Post website.

It worked for 2 of my 4 tracking numbers. For these 2 it does give a date and time. This might be processing at customs.

One was for NL Post and the other probably China Post. I received the first yesterday (the date given was April 2) but no news for the second (the date given was March 25).

Nearly all my orders starting from FEB 15 up to now have been reshipped and have new tracking numbers.
Whats the reason for that Gearbest?

Thats 15 orders we are talking about, its nearly impossible for them to be returned for secutiry reasons, those arent batteries too but flashlights.

Does anybody got that issue?

my third order from gearbest… just under 14 days from clicking “place order” and paying? to a noticve in my mailbox i wasnt home for the delivery… 12/13 days from china to my door is pretty good…

Because this is a survey, here’s my statistics:

  • order Feb 15 2016 - not delivered (a month in Sweden post);
  • order Feb 15 2016 - delivered;
  • order Mar 06 2016 - not delivered (Belgium post);
  • order Mar 27 2016 - not delivered (Belgium post).

I’m stopped activity here now.

Ordered 4th April

Delivered 15th April

11 day’s - Netherlands Post

Just one order with GB.
16 days delivery.
CS very responsive to all my inquiries pre- and post-order.
Tracking was good.

Anyone here have experienced with the Australia Line Registered shipping method used by gearbest. I wonder why they shipped my item yesterday with that shipping method because it says on their faq it Ships to: Australia shipping address only but I’m not from Australia and also the tacking number is unusual, just numbers. They usually ship my orders with Netherlands Post Registered. Where can I track it?

Hi s1m888,

Could you please PM me the order number first? Please rest assured we will check and solve for you.

Thanks for your cooperation in advance.

Hi mikemalone,

Thank you very much for your kind support.

If you have any further questions, we’re always happy to help.

From South India; ordered quite a few items from GB; all have been shipped via a service with tracking code beginning with NL (though the Netherlands post website couldn’t track it, but http://sky56.cn/english/track/index seems to work). Three of five items came here in a record 10-12 days and 2 items never showed up (for which you refunded me, thank you.) On looking at the tracking data, I realised that the items did get delivered had landed at Chennai customs (which is closer to where I live and logical) whereas the missing items ended up in Kolkata customs (which is 2000 km away) and never got delivered. Not sure if this is something you can work with, but I hope the info helps.

Hi, does anyone have experience that item is pre-advised for 21 days. Gearbest claim that they did send packet to me but something is wrong here. They say that post office didn’t update status, but if someone missed to update status it would be updates at nest point but my order was never updated?

Ordered date: 28 Jul 2016
Delivered date: 2 Aug 2016

Location: Singapore via Kerry Express. Keep up the good work!

Try to use national post.
Here in the Netherlands all those couriers (UPS, DHL, etc) are crap.
They only deliver on weekdays during office hours. That’s if they show up at all. After few tries they give up and I have to pick up the package in a remote industrial area. During office hours so I have to take a day off.
National post is much better. They also deliver in the evening hours and weekends. Or I can just pickup my package 5 minutes from home or office. 7 days a week….

Out of a good number of orders I had one arrive with a cracked lens but they took care of it w/o too much BS.

Shipping time is pretty even from order to order. I recommend getting the tracking, It makes the wait less annoying if you can see some progress every few days.

My only complaints have been missed sales.

So far so good.
