Q8, PMS SEND TO THOSE WITH ISSUES BLF soda can light

Interested.

Preferable the normal SRK size with 4 LED , choice of tints , 1 to 4 18650 batteries capable and moonlight mode.

As for the UI , parts used and heatsinking , will leave it to experts here with confident.

End of the day, price the deciding factor.

I’m interested as well. This would be my first SRK.

I am interested.

Sounds amazing, I’m in for sure.

I would be in for this one…

Please put me on the list for 1 unit.

Do Want.

Put me down for one

It will be a light like the old SRK
1, 4 cells, only way to make it lighter is using 1 2 or 3 cells.
2, The same easy to remove plate on the bottom so modding it to run 2p2s can be done as with the current versions.
3, 1 button (ideally with a cell status lighting - green orange red- but maybe the budget won’t allow it and it will become 3 blinks on low battery and shutoff idk, we are early in the proces)
4, 4 LEDs

We have to choose for 1 system to operate it, either a driver with regular modes (the Bistro comes up) or ramping.
I prefer ramping the way djozz describes since it has infinite brightness levels so it should fit everybody’s needs.

Yes when we are further down the road it is a good idea to see if the host version can be made available, for now I focus on a old fashioned good quality SRK.

We could check for a Cree in warmer tint if that is what a lot of people want. I thought writing this the 219C is about the nicest LED because its high CRI and still being very bright.
We could go for a few choices if that is possible, again, idk now and I do not know how more choices will change te cost of making and distribution, 1 led seems easier and well ordering 400 x 4 (1600) LEDs should push the price for individual LEDs down more then 400 x led A, 800 x led B and 400 x led C.

So there you have my point of view, please discuss and add any 2 or more lumen yourself!

The baby 14500/AA variation is a nice follow-up IMHO to become a nice set later.
So let’s forget about that little cutey now shall we

So much for my idea. I am going to build an improved srk with a deeper larger head for larger reflectors (76mm head with a compound reflector made from 4x C8 reflectors), deeper cooling fins, removable handle, and tailcap battery replacement to reduce wear to batteries and contact ring among other improvements and when complete I was going to post to determine if there was enough interest to have it produced. One thing I would definitely like to see is better threads. That alone would make me want one as a base for my big head mod but I also understand that if the same threads were used extension tubes made for it could be used on other lights. The availability of a reasonably priced extension tube would facilitate bulding a quad xhp powered by 2s4p 18650.

Based on my measurements, the Shocker had 3 C8 size reflectors, but if you can do it in a 76 mm head, sounds great. The Shocker problems were the weight and size mainly, and even the 3 cells turned out to be a major limit on output over the run-time, plus the fact of the cells in series, you should be using protected cells. The standard SRK 4 parallel cell arrangement is great for high amp unprotected cell usage - safe and scale-able. The SRK multi-LED form factor has many benefits for simple high amp, high output designs, plus the ability to have an advanced UI because of the e-switch. You can perhaps do a better UI with a two e-switch approach, as many higher end lights are offering now. Like the use of the cell status LED’s.

Sorry though awesome using available 4 led SRK reflectors and same sizes helps to keep the price down.
The better threads is a demand however no weak triangular threads on a BLF Special like this

OK when contact is made with a manufacturer we’ll toss in dual switch idea, aim high!

Count me in for one!

Are you sure that you wouldn’t want a UCL lens, instead of AR-coated one?

I’m currently #11 and #12 on the list.

Please put me down for a third one. I lured another friend aboard!

Thank you Miller!

In! In! In!

Goshdogit, aha yes will do!
But it probably will take a while before they are in your hands

@

You mean 3 times ;D (if not please tell me, I put you in the list three times ;))

Aha, 1dash1 yes that would defeat the purpose, thanks.
The question then is, is a UCL lens worth it or should we just go with a standard lens?
For now I removed the AR coated lens from the OP and were back at a glas lens.

FWIW, Nichia 219 + AR-coated lens is a recipe for low CRI. I’d suggest that you go for good tint or AR coating, but not both.

Yes, the AR coating is gone, we’re back at regular glass for now. Thanks!

interested in 18650 version ,definitely IN for 14500 version by DavidEF.
