Grey switch cap from thorfire s70

anyone know what kind of tool to use to open the retaining ring of the switch cap?
it was so small i can’t get my snap on plier to work

I have the same question

Used a small screwdriver and carefully turn is, giving force at one hole first, not too uch, then switch holes.
again, with a little more force in the two holes, upped the force until it came loose, no scratches!

tough job for butter-finger like me :person_facepalming:

yesssssssss i know lol give me some views or else no one will lol!

You could see a faint illumination of the green led through the grey switch cover. Amber or red status could be slightly more visible.

That’s exactly how my S70 looks.
I’ll run it down later to get a look at amber and red.

Well the ‘T’ is easier to read on the gray! (that’s about the only positive thing I have to say)

I’m glad I spotted this thread as I received my S70 today and was disappointed to find the voltage indicator had been ditched in this batch. Now I know the circuitry is at least still there and maybe fixable with a replacement opaque cap, well, at least I hope so as it’s pretty much impossible to see through the grey rubber even on low mode.

I ran the batteries down last night.
Amber indication has about the same visibility as green , but flashing red is a little bit more noticeable.

Wow, that’s just horrible.

Try as I might, I can’t understand how they didn’t realize, this is no good.

I, too, was disappointed by the gray switch cover.

I could not distinguish any light at all coming from the battery level indicator under the switch cover, even with the S70 turned on in the low mode and in a totally dark room.

I sent a PM to Thorfire asking whether they can send us replacement covers. No response yet.

Thanks for asking them.

I’ll await a response.

Yesterday i got my S70. And i have same troubles with grey button.

Button can be easily replaced with Kaidomain version.

Where can i get it?

It is not 1-to-1 ratio, but this is the closest dimension that I have found.

Retaining ring is not glued. Go easy with when releasing the ring to prevent accidental scratches.
