New type of E27 MCOB Led Bulb

Do you have a link to the product you are using?

US company that is into filament bulbs.

I got 2 for $5 when they were on sale with some other 1 time promo.

Bah! I just love his accent, I watched the 17 minutes just enjoying him speaking! I mean, if I met him in a dark alley, I’d probably turn around and run, but his voice and accent makes me think he’s a great guy to share a pint with

My favorite bigclive video is this one though:

This one is kinda fun as well, as I have received 7 of these (but euro kind, not UK) from Banggood:

Thanks. That was a great deal! I just bought a house so I am looking for these kinds of deals. if anyone stumbles across a great deal for any type LED bulb please let me know.

I see there is not much interest in new tech here. However,I bought the
bulb that the thread is all about. Two weeks before they
sent it,so probably they had to buy it from somewhere.Ordered warm white and got a cool tint. No heat/no driver in the socket so I think it is 6W(not 12W as in advert) and more than 800 lumens,ei more efficient than anything I have seen.

Good to see that they seem to be a good product. I have 8 on the way (4 warm white and 4 cool white). Hopefully they should arrive tomorrow or next week as they have been shipped over a month ago.

I like the design of these bulbs, but my concern is due to the vented aspect of these dust will build up on the glass plate over time and there is no easy way to clean them. I guess you could blow compressed air into the vents?

You could probably do that, but it might just create ‘dust bunnies’ which would be more aggravating. Maybe spray a little electronics cleaner into the bulb to wet the dust, then blow it out with compressed air? Or, just make sure it is installed inside a fairly closed light fixture.

A picture of the 4 rows of the 120 leds on a glass plate in that advert.

Cool light!
Big Clive is cool too.

Here’s another one:

So these are not COB but COG, chip on glass.

I like that COG design. Can’t wait till it evolves into nice looking bulbs. Certainly does not need to have the traditional A60 shape anymore.
I have just received a few of the retro filament style WW COB LED inside glass bulb for a fixture I am repurposing. A60 and some ST64 versions in 6W and 8W.
One 6W A60 fizzled when I hit the switch… broke the glass and saved the COB strips. Threw the rest away. Good I ordered an extra.

Nice find, thank you.

I’ve been wondering if the audio stream on these videos could be routed through a Google Voice phone to get a transcript.

Searched for mcob on our forum and found nothing.
Embarassing and scandalous so I changed the titel on this thread.

For those of you in the USA, those new type of bulbs are being sold at Home Depot. They came out on Black Friday. A box of 10 is priced at $19.88.
They didn’t sell, so the price is being reduced. So far I have seen them as low at $15.00. I am thinking they will go even lower.
They are being sold as “rough service bulbs”

Tempting dchomac!

This may push you over the top
Now they are $15 for the 10

Advertised as bouncy bulbs: World's first (nearly) unbreakable LED light bulb can be dropped off the side of a building and still work

I wonder what “amber” means. Lighting Science used to make “turtle safe” amber LEDs, so they ought to know.

Looks like these ‘filament’ bulbs are all called “amber” — glass enclosure of a LED strip.
