Lowes Deal Alerts & Discussion Thread

I got 5 of each length

I like the feed-through greenies with a hole in the center- they really make for a tidier box.

USA NEC now requires either a green wire-nut or a mechanical crimp sleeve tying all the grounds together in boxes with a single wire going to the switch or outlet ground terminal. An added non-feedthrough pigtail wire may go over the limit for wires allowed in that box while the feedthrough wire-nut won’t.

Phil

With a green grounding wire connector, in a box where you have a cable in and cable out (line and load) and a metal box and a device, you can ground everything with no extra pigtails. Just wrap one wire around the ground screw of the box, and then connect it to the other wire with the other wire going through the connector to the device. You actually only connect two wires but it does the same thing as having two pigtails therefore four wires.

Some deals I saw at Lowes. Mostly stuff I needed to rewire the lights on my trailer.

These are incans, but I could plug in LEDs later

These were 7.98, then 3.99, then 1.98 and then I came along. Got it for $1.58
This is the water proof mounting hardware for the trailer connectors.

Black electrical tape would be handy for taping up connections. 30 cents a roll is a steal!

Needed some tiedowns for stringing the wires under the trailer

In case those weren’t big enough, I got some of these. They are HUGE

3 inch convex mirror to see around all that stuff I’ll be dragging behind me.

Then a couple of months ago, Lowes cleared out a lot of sockets for cheap. So cheap at first that they changed their mind and raised the price a bit. Well alot of that stuff didn’t sell at that higher price. Here is a box full of what was left and priced at 25 cents per item.

Here is what I picked out for myself. 25 cents each!
Swivel sockets, claw feet and a 3” 1/4 inch extention

Just some stuff I found walking around Lowes.
BTW, most of this stuff I have no use for, I’ll buy anything IF it’s cheap enough. And the other day I was thinking…………… Because I usually buy stuff I need at really really good prices, I can afford to buy stuff I don’t need at really really good prices.

Filament bulbs of all types. I did NOT buy any of these

These are back on sale. This was the last day though, they are no longer available at that price.

A few of the Utilitech lights are on clearance at some stores. 3C 500 lumen $8.00, 9AA 1000 lumen $10.00.

Got a chance to mess with these today. The 3C 500 lumen is pretty nice and the build quality is much nicer then any of my Defiants. Great deal for under 8 bucks!!! I would pass on the 9AA 1000 lumen triple model but it’s still decent for only 10 bucks.

$8 is a great price for a 3C 500 Lumen light. I never paid attention to that light because it was $29.95! crazy high.
I just used my Lowes app while at home to check the price in MY local store.

Here is another store across the river

Here is another local store

Then I checked 2 stores one in Ohio and 1 in PA near where I just spent the last 2 weeks
Ohio, $7.49!

Erie, PA $13.49

Then thinking of PA, I checked the store GarryBunk goes to.

No wonder he is always complaining that he can’t get no deals.

Yep! Grrrr! It’s frustrating!

Does LOWES have a designated “Clearance” area like HD does?

My local HD has two such areas with a big yellow CLEARANCE banner over it. When I went to my local LOWES and walked around for a bit, I didn’t see one.

All I was able to find at LOWES is scattered yellow tags here and there.

They don’t seem to have permanent areas for clearance items as Home Depot does. In my local stores there will sometimes be rolling carts in the front isle or rear isle with clearance items. Then there is usually yellow clearance stickers throughout the store on items that are on clearance. Lowes doesn’t follow as strict a formula for discounting as HD. But sometimes they have stuff for 5 or 10 cents on the dollar.

I was at the Lowes store today that is “over the river”. I don’t know about the one “thru the woods” or “to Grandmothers house” but this one now has the Utilitech 3C 500 Lumen flashlight for $7.49. I just checked my local store and it too is now $7.49 I picked one up to try out.

Garry’s store is still $17.98 though :weary:

Good news Garry. If you lived in Latrobe, PA you would have to pay even more. They get an extra $6

What this all really means though is that they are on their way out. Just be patient and the price will come to you

I just got a chance to check out the Utilitech 3C I just picked up at Lowes. Pretty nice light, has the older XM-L in it. No tailcap switch, it is up by the head which I like. My biggest surprise is that this 3C light accepts 26650’s, THEY FIT!
I have never seen that in a “C” sized light.
Think of the possibilities.

You’re making me buy another light dchomak. Maybe I’ll get lucky on the price this time- at least I can look, BTW, what is the lens/reflector diameter? Thanks!

Phil

2”
The more money I get you to spend, the more normal I look.

52mm. Hmmm, same size as the SRK reflectors.

That’s also a good price on the 9AA light that is ib the right.

I dont think I’ve ever seen a C cell light that accept 26650’s either.

If you (or anyone else has one), can you please check to see if the Utilitech 3C battery tube will lego with the Defiant Superthrower?

Lowes near me has some of those 3C lights for $7.49. I may go back. Those of you that bought them…can you disassemble the head? I thought some of the Utilitech lights won’t open up very easily.

I FOUND GOLD!!! (sort-of)

Found these PEX toilet supply lines right when I went to lowes to get a new toilet valve and supply!

For the price of one of those 12” PVC lines, you can get 17 of the PEX lines.
In this picture, that bundle of PEX lines on the left is the same price as that PVC supply line on the right.

I only got 6 of them. At the checkout they rang up at full price so the attendant(s) had to manually enter the price… we got them for 20¢ each

I wish those faucet supply lines were on clearance like that.

Oh also some curtains

A friend of mine called me today to alert me of this deal. These wire strippers are nice, blades are made of stainless steel.
In my Lowes they are marked at list price and there is a sign noting that select Southland wire strippers are 10% off until 6/21. That’s today. But they ring up at 50% off, I don’t know what would happen tomorrow. The web site says they are 50% off for a limited time. I checked a number of stores in various States and this deal seems to be universal.
