Convoy L6... XHP70 Beast!

Is the amp reading 5A? That is nice.
Also, a spring bypass right out of the factory is very nice too, but I won’t have any use if it isn’t done right. It should be done with atleast 20(?) awg wire.

Anyway, I will still buy it!

I’m more a fan of using good, thick, plated springs instead of a bypass on a lesser spring.

The reading you’re seeing in that picture is 5.25A and 7.6V from the stock driver.

As far as opinions on the spring bypass, how does this one compare to the spring bypasses offered by other companies in their stock flashlights?

Just curious…

Wow this is really cool! A custom hot rod modded light from the factory! This is outstanding for the people that want a modded light with out all the cost or hassle (waiting in line) of having one done by somebody or the cost of the equipment! Direct from the factory, I like it! Here’s one for you “J” and 2 for Simon!!

I’m sure Host’s will be made for purchase too? Continuing the tradition of making it what ever you want it to be? Correct?? Hopefully??? Please!!!

To be honest, I don’t know how it would perform, I’m just afraid it won’t do its job sufficient.
For us blf’ers that’s not a problem since we can mod it. But for the rest of the buyers that don’t know what modding is it isn’t an option.

So let’s say I rather be on the safe side.

Nevertheless, I’m really happy that Simon went this route! Can’t wait.

Is this light will be contain spacers for 18650 batteries like the L2? Any info about that?

Is it so wrong to want all this goodness into the new L2 also? I like the L6 but always need something a bit smaller.

Thanks KawiBoy. Without you and others like you to answer my questions on the technical end this would never have happened. As you pointed out, some of us absolutely love these hotrod lights yet don’t have the budget, equipment, skill or time to mod lights ourselves.

This and any other light can be made better or more to specific tastes by a skilled modder. That said, I’m happy to be part of bringing lights that are at least close to modded lights performance-wise to the people in my boat at budget prices.

Back at ya brother!

Of course they will be available as hosts. We plan to make smooth reflectors for the host in the future too. This is a Convoy light after all.

I will ask Simon but to be honest this is not an ideal light for 18650s as they would be drained very quickly. The XHP70 is quite power hungry and we are feeding it well with this high current driver. I would recommend investing in a pair of hi-drain 26650s for this one.

This looks great, can’t wait. What sort of lumens does the XHP achieve at 5A?

Nah, that’s not wrong. What’s wrong is when someone posts some exciting pictures of a fantastic new waffle recipe they found and someone follows it with a post that says “I’ve always preferred pancakes”. :stuck_out_tongue:

From the little research I just did I would suspect at least 4000+ lumens!

Oh well… The L6 sounds like it’s gonna be my third XHP70 light in six month… after the Fandyfire and the Thorfire.

The S70 will be hard to beat at 4k lumen plus the other goodies. Can’t wait to see how the L6 will come out. Both look very similar with the side switch.

Now to order more hi drain 26650 to be ready…

Damn! That’s gonna be awesome!

I know it, but I have a lot of 18650-s and 0 26650-s now. Just I want to try it before I invest in a lot of 26650, and maybe some other 26650 lights. I’m happy with small and single cell lights until now

Not including adapters is no big deal. Adapters to use 18650’s in a 26650 light are available many places. Fasttech, ebay, …. It may be best to not offer them with the light as many users are not going to use them anyhow.

You can’t have too many XHP70’s! I like!
