Lumintop TD16 Review Tactical flashlight

Hey folks today I am reviewing the Lumintop TD16 I received this for review from bensnail they are luckylightbank on amazon they gave me a 20% coupon to share.
Link here Amazon.com The 20% OFF Coupon is: “YTBCHRIS”.

Now you know how I roll just because its free doesn’t mean it gets let of easy!

If anything I expect more out of this flashlight seeing its price point now more money doesn’t really mean more power right? Basically its built to last which is what you would expect when you pay a premium price. You expect top quality builds which is what this light delivers in bundles!

Now basically this flashlight is aimed at the outdoors market more specifically hunting seeing its size and tactical shape you can also buy all the kits you need to mount it to your firearm and you can also buy the pressure switch and different color lenses that fit on top of the light.

The box itself is amazing qualityis is hard cardboard very well finished would make a perfect gift box.

It is made to the sense of what flashlight manufactures think a tactical flashlight should have feature wise.

Let’s run over some specs.

First of all it uses a Cree XML2 U2 with doubles sided AR coated glass.
The TD16 has 6 modes
High 1000 lumen for 2.2 hours (looks much brighter than 1000 lumen)
Medium 220 lumen for 8.7 hours
Low 35 lumen for 40 hours
Plus 3 strobes modes at different frequencies they run at 1000 lumen and for 4.5 hours

This is the flashlight itself it is a nice looking flashlight my favorite design are the tactical types. The cooling fins look cool! They do a great job at keeping the flashlight cool.

The Lumintop TD16 has a pretty simple UI it has a tail lock out and an electronic side switch just the standard click the tail switch to turn on and use the electronic side to change modes. When you need the strobes hold the electronic switches down (strobes are hidden) for a few seconds and you get access to the 3 strobe modes.

The TD16 is IPX8 waterproof to 2 meters I tested this in a bucket of water to view that test check out my video I will leave down the bottom. I also done a drop test from 2 meters in the video the TD16 passed with flying colors. Even though the flashlight is only rated to 1.5 meter drop proof.

Comes with the Care and instruction and warranty booklets

Max beam distance is 310 meters for the TD16 if you need more throw they also make a XPL-HI version that is rated at 450 meters but of course you lose some output with the XPL-HI (920 lumen). You could easily de-dome the LED seeing as the tint is a little white.

The Lumintop TD16 has enough power stock being at around 1000+ lumen now this is either a pro or con depending on what you like but the TD16 has a buck driver. So the flashlight can run on either one 18650 or two CR123 for me this a bonus because it gives you the versatility of using store bought batteries in an emergency situation.

Beam pattern! I like it its a good mix between throw and spill!

The build quality is on par with what you expect I cannot find a single flaw on the TD16 which is what you really should expect. Now the saying comes into play you pay for what you get which is usually true! The threads are all smooth and well cut they even come greased the anodizing doesn’t have a single mark on it! This is actually amazing build quality no scratches on the lens or the reflector no scuffs no rough marks even the cooling fins are perfect. it has been a while since i have seen a flashlight made like this.

I shot on full manual mode not the best quality even though its a 20MP camera

This is the accessories that are included with the TD16 the sheath is of good quality it looks like it will last a long time and the Velcro does a good job of keeping in the flashlight in place.
!

!

This is the reflector and LED the Cree XML2 U2 also you can see the front tactical ring which can be used for striking in an emergency situation. The tactical bezel also helps to show you if the light is in operation while placed downwards. You may just be able to make out the AR coating on the lens. The TD16 is a bit dirty now from the drop test.
!

!

Also included on the flashlight are the Anti-roll device and the clip which is sturdy and is custom made for the TD16 so it fits perfect and also does a super good job of holding the TD16 in place and it also comes with the back tactical ring which can be used for striking if needed. It does tail stand only if the tactical ring is on the flashlight.
!

!

This shouts quality! As said before the flashlight can be used with either one 18650 or two CR123s so its a fine line while making the battery tube but the tube is a good size fitting protected Panasonic cells fit with room to spare and also the smaller LG HG2 with out any rattle. I tried two 16340 while the battery tube is open it rattles a tiny bit but once tight no problems at all.
!

!

External thickness of the battery tube so you can see what the mount size is.
!

!

High wise the TD16 is about 16cm at the tallest part of the tactical rings my caliper maxes out at 15cm.
!

!

You can see the threads are good quality and the O-rings are in place and lubricated.
!

!

Height wise it is on the taller end of these flashlight.
!

!

Not the widest head but it is deep its easily deeper then the BLF D80 mine D80 is currently parted out.
!

!

Diameter of the head its about small to medium size i guess.
!

!

Flashlight comes apart like so!
!

!

Low mode so over exposed its at like Iso 6400 damn…
!

!

Medium mode ISO is going down slowly lol
!

!

High mode i would think about 1100 lumen upwards!
!

!

Thanks for taking the time to read the review.

This is the full video review i also do a drop test and water test and i compare it to a few other flashlight my usual beam shots are always included in my review

I just got this light. Thanks for the review!

Thanks mate.

Did you buy it for a specific reason? .

low mode 35 lumen still looks super bright right? maybe they underestimated the setting?
!

!

medium mode about 220 lumen seem closer to the lumen count
!

!

high mode 1000 lumen its super bright it is surely brighter then a 1000 id say about 1150 lumen….
!

!

also on high mode easily bright enough. lights up my whole back yard easy…
!

!

I got it for a review and for the tactical momentary feature. But yes, you are right, it is MUCH brighter than just a thousand lumens! I’m doing my own YT review. This is one of the best lights I’ve ever had the pleasure of using! It is nothing short of amazing!

Also, never seen such well-spaced modes. They are miles apart, and each useful for their purpose. No PWM. This is THE XM-L2 light to own!

Nice review! Whats with people saying gingers have no soul?

Cool mate send me the link when the video is done. Yea its a great light. I think it could use one more brightness setting maybe a moon light mode I think low mode is brighter then 35 lumen… But could also be the set up of the light like double AR coating. Yea and the driver seems like its well built.

Lol only my beard is Red!

Thanks for the fine review.

FYI — the Amazon seller of the XP-L Hi version of this Lumintop light does not accept the coupon listed in your post.

A different seller offers the XM-L2 version of the light.

imho, this review is for a store that has a reputation for soliciting fake reviews, read all about it here
