A C8/C10 sized and styled Zoomie under $15 Interesting.

Just take one more look…hit that link…there aren’t any other aspheric lens that large in this price range…just put it in your cart…you don’t have to buy it…this is Manafont…you will have it in 2 weeks…Christmas is near…

I couldn’t resist. :frowning:

I'm going to be broke before Christmas, but friends and family are going to have to spend more on batteries and chargers.

gorann, you maybe misunderstood me, I want to modify this small sun light with this lens + an xm-l. But it depends how will perform the original lens.

On the other hand I have a flood to throw light with above mentioned dx 44mm lens, and this is one of my favorite light, almost 60k lux in throw state...

here is a comparison, with C8 xr-e

It's an xr-e Q2 at 1.5A.

Earlier I found a very cheap zoomie body with big head on a hungarian auction site, and I modified that.

how performs an xm-l with 44mm lens against C8 + xr-e and C8 + xm-l

I just ordered this light and I’ve already received an email from Manafont that my order has been dispatched to the post office!

Hopefully the shipping time will be just as speedy! I just received an email notification from DX that a similar light has shipped as well.

This will be a direct comparison of the shipping times between the two companies. I’m guessing Manafont will win

OK, OK, I'm in. Not the right season for waiting for your verdicts.

Curious if it will beat my UltraOK C8 Q5, which is driven at 1.75A.

Edit: The zooming action seems to be the standard push-pull, not by rotation (as described).

Edit Edit: I now see that the emitter comes quite close to the lens when zoomed out, so there is enough space for the zooming threads to remain hidden inside the head even when fully extended.

Ordered late Saturday, dispatch notice early Monday. Smile

Anyone knows the real diameter of the lens in this one?

It looks like it might be 40-42mm.

Comparing to my Manta Ray, which is very much the same body (only not focusing) and seeing that on this one the bezel ring looks somewhat thicker, I'd estimate this bezel opening to be about 36-37mm (Manta's is 38).

What size R2-emitter star fits in this one?

Or whats the easiest way to mod it to use R2 bin-emitter?

Welcome to BLF, whelibob

This is a new light so no-one's has arrived yet. Until then, no idea re star size.

Thanks! :)

I'll have to order it myself aswell then.

Welcome whelibob.

Have fun here. I do...

I'm very impressed by the number of people here who don't have English as their first language.

Many of whom write better English than I do.

I should give you a scolding reprimand for posting this! Why do you always dig up VERY interesting zoom lights at a time when I either

A) Have no money

B) Have to leave home for very extended periods of time and therefore will not receive it untill 4 months after I order it.

C) Is somehow in bad standing with SWMBO

Arrgh I cannot buy this I must not buy this. It probably rocks mega super top dollar and I will not get it. Ding dang dew this is a conondrum.

Sorry for my rant I´m just jealous. And unfair. :shy:

@ whelibob : Welcome to BLF. The most expensive light forum on the net. For me anyway. So many fine affordable lights and so little money.

This from Jim at Manafont
My Qestion:
Can you physicaly confirm please if this light is a PUSH/PULL zoom or a TWIST or TURN for zoom.
Thanks

Thank you very much for your inquiry.

"PUSH/PULL" design used in the product. Please refer to the products photos:

Thank you very much for your reminder. The product description has been corrected accordingly. Thank you again for your support to Manafont.

Too bad, as I was planning to use it for throw only ...

Maybe a thicker o-ring can make it stay put?

Well, that’s another light that will end up in my garbage or actually probably torn apart for parts.

This is the downside of buying from (all of) these sites. It’s also why I never spend much on any one item since you can’t count on knowing any detail of the product.

I know everyone likes either the push/pull or the twisty zoom for their own reasons, for me I find I want the light to be closer to the eye level (instead of “strolling”) –then I can us the zoom in and out with one hand and still have my thumb on the switch button.
