This video reminded me of this thread

I just realize this problem has grown to an alarming level. The UN has to act, the faster the better.

Next they’ll tell us they can control the weather. :open_mouth:

> Next …. control the weather

What, that story again?

Just a quick analysis helps lead you to a rather solid, clear conclusion. Conspiracy theory believers adopt these beliefs like a form of religion.

These are people who refuse to accept reality. It is a neurosis. You can argue facts with them until you’re blue in the face — they won’t budge. It even borders on cultism. It has helped usher in this wave of populist politics that makes a terrible reveal of just how badly society has decayed. Human beings, left unchecked, have a tendency to embrace chaos and self-destruction. It’s illogical. But it’s a nasty side effect of the inventive mind.

Obviously the earth is not flat, but the word "conspiracy" is far to freely used in msm to silence legitimate concerns or findings of legitimate scientists, academics engineers and clever people that are on to something. It works great for the sheeple though.

The truth is: these flatearthers contribute $$$$$$$$$$$ extra to Google via Youtube since they first started their madness. I don’t think Google wants them gone anytime soon.

I refute it thus: https://epic.gsfc.nasa.gov/

I really cant take this seriously. How can you believe this?

But… they claim flat Earth is true and the globe Earth is the massively effective conspiracy that has fooled billions. LOL. The sheer audacity of it. The flat Earthers are nothing but time wasters. Human detritus.

They are as flat as they can be. This topic they believe in, makes it much easier if the government plan to conduct selective evolution. My concern goes to the smarter young generation believers who might spend their precious time finding their way back to the reality. This also what worries most scientists. We don’t want a “Flat Generation” to slow down progress.

There has been relatively large group of people believed in such nonsense secretly or silently. Now this movement has encouraged them to show up, causing more destructive irrational acts. I’ve seen it….

You can’t live without a belief system, there must be a religion to link people. And yes atheist is also a religion ironically, but a materialist one.

Philosophically speaking if the founding myth is a unique earth and the whole universe turn around it, it will gives your life more importance and meaning than living on a meaningless rock full of water spinning in a infinite space with trillions of other stars and planets with maybe similar life forms as us.

As a thought experiment it is a interesting, and maybe it is true.

Well, their flashlights can throw farther than ours without a horizon, so there is that.

I have always suspected that some of it is down to attention seeking, but I do actually know one flat earther. His daughter was badly injured and this led to him losing the plot somewhat. He began insisting that the earth was flat and pointing to various passages in the Bible which he claimed proved it. Then insisting that other people were not proper Christians if they did not follow a literal interpretation of the Bible. In his case it does not seem to be attention seeking but genuine illness so I have muted him on social media, and get the occasional update on how bad he has got from my wife
