I’ve never seen the point of this light, the big head places it in 18650 category, so why not carry an 18650 torch? The Olight S15 plus extension tube is unbeatable in terms of output and efficiency, and is compact.
for want of an idea, instead of an extension tube…
maybe Manker can copy the battery compartment of Nitecore EC4SW
instead of series, maybe the batteries can be wired in parallel.
im thinking that there should be enough juice in the combined battery to power the XP-L HIGH for some more minutes
i have the Quark QB2A, it was my only thrower until I got the T01. what i like in the QB2A is I get more runtime.
its length however relegates it to the drawer until I need its throw or if i need to brighten my bungalow via ceiling bounce during blackouts. but i need to secure it as it cannot tailstand.
i too have the S15. its hotspot is not as small as the Quark but wide enough to illuminate things around the house at 10 feet. with its extension tube, i use it as our main light during extended blackout.
the problem with extension tube is their length. the S15 even with its strong magnet is still wobbly. there just isnt enough surface area for the base to stand on.
I think we will be better off with 2 batteries side mounted with each other. this preserves flashlight length with twice the width and twice the surface area of the base.
