well, i might have let the deal of the century go… last week on my search for maglites i noticed a makerbot 3D printer in clearance. i remember thinking - huh, so homedepot sells 3D printers - and thought nothing more about it. a few days later, i started googling to see if there were other sites listing homedepot penny deals and came across http://slickdeals.net/f/7735565-dedicated-thread-home-depot-b-m-ymmv-clearances-xx-06-xx-03-1-cent-deals-and-other-significant-discounts. it had the 3D printer listed at a penny!!! so back i went the next day and it was gone…
i won’t lie - the thought did cross my mind but its a bit too far for me. so will save the climbing for a future date. used to work in stocking a long time back - and i was a spiderman!
I assume it works the same in the US as Canada, if i need something thats stacked or on the top shelf they will bring out the vehicle to bring down the pallets, and someone walks in front of it with flags while it beeps on its way to the correct aisle.
I passed on the smaller bars as I already had some, but that big one. Just had to have it. There were 2 and they were marked down to $7.53.
In the background I’m in the middle of boxing up lights to various BLFer’s. I just noticed the price on the Tape Dispenser and 2 rolls of tape. Staples has good deals too!
Dchomak, that’s called a “Stud Wrench” around here- it’s used to un-twist poor lumber. Nail one end straight, un-twist, then nail other end straight. Good framers use those a lot, you can’t get decent lumber anymore
Good for that too. Twist nailed studs loose by using it right against the plate and the stud won’t split.
For ‘whacking’ things I love my sledgehammer- I’ve worn out (not by damage) 2 handles and have years left in the 3rd as long as I don’t miss or loan it out :smiling_imp:
I have finally achieved penny-purchase nirvana! This headlight was at $3.83 for about a week. I took it to the register to do a price check and suddenly the screen was surrounded by rays of light emanating from the screen with heavenly choirs lifting their voices to the firmament! The price was 1 penny. I quickly paid and hurried from the store before my dream could be shattered by reality. It was originally $14.99. It’s like the commercial at Christmas where Santa sees the big, giant M&Ms and says, “They do exist!” before he passes out. (If a picture shows up, it’s from random website. I’ll post a picture of the item and sales slip when I get home tonight.)
I have been watching that head lamp for some time. I have brought one more than once to check the price, it had always been $3.83. Now I know, next one I see will probably be a penny.
Thanks
