I like the light but I worry about the battery being in a black box in the desert when the air temperature is 115f (46 celcius) and the battery in the black light fixture, is probably much higher in temperature.

What does that do to the battery, and is it an unprotected battery, does that matter?

When the air temperature up to 70 celcius, it will be impact.115f is OK.

High temperatures and high states of charge are two of the big killers of Lithium batteries.

Whilst these look like quite a nice product, I prefer something with a remote panel so the battery pack and light can be kept out of direct sun. This black unit in direct sun will get very hot in the climate you describe, just as it would for me during an Aussie summer.

It would be helpful to know if the batteries are LiFePO4 or Li-Ion. 2 x 2200mAh 18650s according to the rather dodgy specs.
I seriously doubt the inbuilt solar panel shown there can charge the two cells in just 8 hours of sunshine as described.

On the other hand, it wouldn’t cost a fortune to find out.
