I stopped on my way INTO work today and snagged 3 more of the 800 lumen Husky work lights (all they had) for the same $8.83 price. I’ll probably post some pics and ask for some help modding it in a new thread this weekend.
Quick into from some testing last night:
AC-DC convertor in the back, outputing 27.8 volts.
“Bridgelux” LED on a star mounted behind a stout glass lens
Between lens and star is a virtually flat “reflector” that can’t possibly be doing anything except hiding wires.

I wonder if it would be effective to mount two or more of those lights onto a stand or fixture, then wire them in parallel… switch option to run 2 or 4 lights simultaneously.
Easy to do, if you are comfortable doing AC wiring. I have enough plug in trouble lights, I really want to get these molded into battery power models – ideally using my Cordless tool packs but I might even use some of my laptop pulls with a cheap charging board from mtnelectronics.com screwed into the back area. I left the last set mostly intact, so I have 4 pairs welded together.
These lights finally went to the 3 price. $2.53 Rechargeable Flashlight that plugs into the wall and turns on with a power outage;
Got another of the Husky twin packs. The 3C model is an XP-L and 500 Lumen. the 3 – AAA model is 165 lumen.
This time for a penny
I didn’t notice until I got outside, where did the batteries go?
Just a few miles away from the store that had these for a penny, they were marked down from 11.97 to 6.98. I did scan the price
This store had that same 100W power inverter and 2A USB charging station priced at $27.06. Scanned for $8.83
One of the power invertors on a welcome mat on clearance. I bought 4 of the mats.
Got 2 of these for $4.83. Last 2 in my area. It’s actually fairly decent. It can use 3xAA or 3xD batteries. It has a plastic insert that holds the AA batteries in place.
Of course i’m going to have to try a Li-Ion with 2 dummies to see how that works out!
These are ringing up a little under $9 down here. I bought as a potential father’s day gift. Pretty nice units. Built very solid. Appear to be highly water resistant and build to run continuously and last a long time. Not sure what emitter is in it. Puts out a extremely wide, even, wall of light. Tint and color rendition are ok. Would like it to be better, but it’s acceptable. Especially at $9.
Number per the above pic appears to be 0000-480-624.
Well, it worked in preview, let me try my first "beamshot" from my Galaxy S6 with a broken lens around 4 feet from my custom, specially designed white wall garage door.
I own 4 of the Husky 800 lumens now. Let me see if I have gotten any smarter at adding photos. This should be a pic of the whole thing:
And this should be a closeup of the LED, running IIRC from a previous post at around 28 VDC.

I tweaked the size a bit so it didn't distort.
edit: rehosted to imgur to downsize pics feel free to copy and paste code into your post.
Those images are huge; you should use a service like Postimage or Imgur; they reduce the size of the images to make it optimal for sharing; also someday you’ll probably delete those images from your dropbox and then they wouldn’t work.

Great, ANOTHER account to set up and figure out. I usually use the basic editor and set them to 50%, but to get the strike through text to work I had to use the advanced post editor, which busted the simple editors image links. I DID set them to 800 × 450 (?) but you are right, on my phone it is still huge.
Thanks for the breakdown pic Lazy-R-us. Good stuff.
I wouldn’t say the first picture is the whole thing though. There is a good sized separate box behind the head that houses the AC/DC converter and driver circuitry. There is also a nice stand electrical cord that comes with the unit.

Here’s a reply to the mouse discussion; when we got back here, all four rat traps were occupied; the results were interesting. http://postimg.org/gallery/7z4idjqk/
One mouse had the bar snapped right on its head which popped its eyes out. Apparently their eyes are actually clear and their sockets are black.

Only one mouse was killed correctly, the one with the clear eyes BTW the eyes bit is not normal, you got unlucky
My mouse trap caught one today, first one this year

The husky worklight at my store is still full price.
Some stuff at some stores just don’t go on clearance.
There were other Husky LED work lights, but not this 800 Lumen model posted above.

Anyone have the sku number for those Husky 800 lumen worksites?
I’d like to check local inventory.
Thanks!

Thx for sending me to HD again.
As soon as anyone gets one of these work lights for a penny please let the rest of us know.
<big edit, I got an Imgur account, but I don't know how to use it!>

You don’t need an account to use Imgur or Postimage.
The BLF post editor thing is weird.

Seems we need more traps since we had no vacancy this time. Maybe we should use a bucket trap. It’ll probably fill up to the brim. LOL
get humane traps and release the poor mousies into the woods, exactly one half mile from your house
Did we not have this discussion before, here is the reply again, and my offer is still open

Maybe we should branch the mouse discussion off…
i hope it dies quickly this time

No I meant make a separate thread, and if it were, we wouldn’t want it to die, would we?
well if you release the poor thread into the woods exactly one half miles from this thread, then it wouldn’t have to die.
