Gearbest ripped me off! Lesson learned, no Chinese for me again

Me too.
The only problem was with a vendor on Aliexpress, but take refund after 40 days.

I just order batteries from Fasttech and a few more items i paid like $2 dollars for faster shipping i swear no joke 6 days to get to Australia! Ebay here had a 20% off sale so i ordered a fishing rod from BCF an Aussie company the item came from the other side of Sydney took 2 weeks!

I would have spent $500.00 to completely make sure I did not get what I ordered.

I have ordered a lot of items from Gearbest and had no issues. We’re talking about hundreds of dollars worth of flashlights and related items, I have never once had an issue. And I’ve ordered even more from Banggood, like well over $1000 worth, and again, always got what I ordered, always found it as represented, always in working order.

I have over 150 lights, I am not new here. I am happy with the Chinese purchases I’ve made to date. It really puzzles me when I see these posts, like the mailman loses a package and it’s suddenly all of China’s fault.

I’ve sent 2 packages back to China, one got lost over there and the other made it (the one that made it was DHL, $68 with a 30% discount coupon!)

I wouldn’t be to quick to condemn the OP. I’m more surprised when someone posts that they’ve had zero problems with Chinese vendors. Especially Gearbest. I order from all of them and have had problems with ALL of them. Gearbest just happens to be the worst and requires the greatest relentless tenacity to reach a fair resolution.
I think anybody that is experiencing less than acceptable customer service from Gearbest should post about it. In reality you are doing them a favor by making them painfully aware of their failures. If you are not willing to go to battle when Gearbest screws you then DO NOT BUY FROM GEARBEST!

I’m not a Gearbest fan, I have had my problems with them i the past. For a long time I didn’t order from them, but the last three orders from them has been a very good experience. The order is shipped much faster and the shipping time to Denmark is less than a week.

There’s not too much difference between the Chinese sellers in general. You can have some kind of problem with any of them. Just be careful what you buy. I’ve gotten a lot of good deals. And if some day a pipe bomb arrives in your mailbox , well , that’s just part of the fun !! BOOM !!
But the bad customer service can really get you steamed.

Things that happen after the package has shipped are not the senders fault.
Mistakes get made by postal services, even thefts by postal services.

I have made over 20 orders from Gearbest and Bandgoodt this year. Not a single problem.

You are fortunate that you have not had to deal with their Customer Service.
One of the requirements that they placed on me was to knock on my neighbors doors to look for a package that I repeatedly told them I had already received.
My neighbors have big guns and mean Dogs. I’m not about to go banging on their doors saying “Hey man, you got my package?“

I have been dealing with gearbest, banggood and fasttech for the last couple years, thousands of dollars total in transactions. Problems? Yes, many, but all were resolved the easy way or the complicated way.

Patience and understanding is key, don’t expect a same-day response time, don’t expect perfect English replies and don’t expect hassle-free returns. Buying from China has its cons and pros, and for me the pros outweight the cons.

Again, patience and understanding is key.

Yes, I think I am very lucky.

Will,
I would say that’s good advice.
For me, Fasttech and Aliexpress have had good CS. They have both resolve problems efficiently.
Banggood is not great but my issues with them were settled quickly.
Gearbest in my experience is by far the worst. I hope they get better because I still like to shop with them.
They might put you through an epic battle but in the end they have made good on their errors.

I have found you should order 1-2 items at a time, if there is problems your not out a lot of money and its easier to fix one problem then 10 at the same time. Also BLF is a great resource because you can research what others bought and their experiences and how they work, hence if you buy wisely you mitigate risk somewhat.

That said paypal is the final firewall, don’t be afraid to use it.

KFF agree on AliExpress, the advantages of a system profiting from trust instead of losing money when refunding as big China shops do.

Nice first post ….

Ya just gotta follow some common-sense rules -

1. Only submit 1 or 2 different items per order (and if you order 2 don’t expect they’ll both be ready-for-shipment anytime soon).

2. No more than 2 orders outstanding at any time for each retailer.

3. Use PayPal for leverage in dealing with CS.

4. Be patient and persistent to get reasonable resolution to problems.

All that said, don’t expect 100% satisfaction with every transaction.

This

Plus

Pretty much covers it.

On my last order I opened a ticket as some items were “missing”. (They weren’t really missing they were back ordered and I didn’t read the shipping email like a dumb ass)

They were fine and they beat their revised shipping date by over a week.

Bob

you did read all the posts about gearbest and wanted to give them a chance ??? you got your chance now deal with it

Whaa?

That’s implausible, let alone ridicules!

1 post, just to bad mouth GB. I believe the OP is a troll. But then again I used to defend GB of all the bad mouthing. I have ordered many times with good service.
Then about 6 months ago, 2 orders in a row didn’t show up. Opened tickets on both and got NO response. Tried and tried, NO response.
Ironically, one of those orders contained replacement fans for my 3 OPUS BT-C3100’s that I originally got from GB
Added GB to my growing AVOID list.
