Home Depot Deal Alerts & Discussion Thread

Saturday’s rescue.

Included here are 2 packs of Energizer Lithium Plus AA and AAA cells
Do not believe the price stickers. This was a penny.

Here is some more information on the Bernz O Matic swivel torch head. The model that went on clearance at $8.83 is model TS99T. It’s replacement is model TS99 and is at the list price of $34.97. I looked everywhere for the “T” model but could not find any.

These 65 piece bit sets first came out at $14.88, then were reduced to $12.00. Just recently they were reduced to a “4” price.
from about a week ago.

The “4” price is like the “6” price but instead of being about 25% off, it is usually around 50% off. And things happen a lot faster than the “6” price. It goes to a “2” price in about a week or 2. The stores that had this bit set for $7.54 were suddenly cleaned out. So yesterday when I saw this display I KNEW they would be at the “2” price. That “2” price is too good to pass up, the reason all other stores were cleaned out.

This store missed marking them to $7.54, the reason they still had stock. There were 4, and I got ’em all.

And finally, I was actually relieved that these did not scan for a penny. All of these light fixtures are tagged at the “6” price and have dates old enough that ordinarily they should scan for a penny, but they didn’t.
Whew, I would have been compelled to buy them but actually I am glad they scanned as marked.

And lastly, here is the receipt for the 2 Wingman’s. Such a pretty sight.

Congrats on all the great scores dchomak and radioshaq. Very impressive.

My scores recently have mostly been 75% off prices on chisels, pry bars, floodlight, etc. I did score a penny key chain flashlight and a penny Ryobi magnetic screw holder for power drills. They were in completely different areas than they should have been and had no discount stickers on them. Probably wouldn’t have checked if I had not read some of the ways you 2 are finding some of these deals.

Intentional marketing ploy or not, these random penny finds have me stopping at HD’s pretty much every time I pass one and have the time. I end up buy full price stuff sometimes that I know will not likely ever make it to clearance. I see others in the store trying to do the same thing. It’s funny. We all seem to try to act like we are not searching for penny deals. A big nation-wide covert adult Easter egg hunt.

EDIT: The post above ^ posted while I was typing this post. Just amazing dcho scores there. I got full discount sticker price when trying some of those same lights too.

Hey Bort,
I don’t know if you noticed it in Friday’s rescue pic, but the Philips 100W equivalent DayLight LED went to a penny. I could only find 1 though.
The reason I was looking for them, even at the “3” price of $2.53 is because a friend bought 10 of the 1 to 7 E27 adapters and wanted to fill all 10 with them. Those bulbs are downward firing and 10 of those fixtures up high in his 20’ high ceilings would be giving off 7 x 1500 x 10 Lumens. (105,000 Lumens!)

My wife is staying at her friends house overnight, boy am I going to have fun!

Good luck finding these at Banggoods site. You would need this link:

I certainly could use a wingman, going to HD to try my luck! :money_mouth_face:

I am going to suffer a heart attack after looking at those great items at that…… :frowning: prices

I walked the entire store including the back area and the garden section. No yellow tags, nothing. Everything mentioned and shown here in this thread is at full price. Wingmans full price, Dewalt bit sets full price. Nothing discounted, not even a single light bulb.

Going to try a HD in a different town. The city I live in, the HD is the only one in a 30+ mile radius, and this town has money.

ask an employee where the clearance section is - there were a few home depots where i couldn’t find one, till an employee showed them to me. some weird home depots said they had clearances only a certain day of the week - maybe yours is one of those?

I gotta ask, if the only way to find the real price is by scanning at the self-checkout, do you just load up a cart with all the items with “6” or “3” prices that you think might actually be lower, and run them through the self-checkout scanner?

I missed that, I checked here yesterday, still full price of $15.87 :frowning:

I wonder why we have no discount yet, that LED work flood light is 34.97ish on clearance.
I do wish those light adapters were sold here, if they were CSA approved i would buy a bunch, the only ones we have are the 2 bulb versions.

Bort,
You’ve made 2 mistakes. First one is the 100W equiv bulb that went to a penny is the daylight bulb, not the warm white.
Secondly, you can’t check for clearance prices on the internet. You must be in the store and scan the UPC IN THAT STORE

Sheeesh, I thought I learned you better than that :person_facepalming:

This is the penny bulb. (could be at various other stages of clearance, or not, elsewhere)

Can’t agree more. It’s the thrill of the hunt more than anything. Thanks to dcho for showing the way. And teaching how to track the hunt.

Thanks for the shout-out! Thanks to 3D printers, I have a battery holder/voltage regulator project for Mag xenon bulbs and it’d be a shame to let these go to the crusher. I’ll start a WTB thread for them. I’d like to compensate people for postage/their time plus a few pennies

I was just there but saw no need to take a picture of a regular price item.
Remember i am in Canada, the land of igloos and we have just been introduced to electricity.
We don’t get penny deals here ever, out stores work on a different system then the American ones.
The daylight is not listed on the website but the warm white is hence i posted that link since it was available. Both are the same price and in stock on the regular shelf, i even scanned it since i am awaiting its price drop you have foretold, no dice :frowning:
The cheapest LED i’ve ever seen at a Canadian HD is $1.46, i bought all 20 of them.

We have energy saving coupons that are from the government, they used to be $5 off, i did once use them once to get 9 bulbs for 4 cents each after tax! The HD price was about $5 though, it was the coupon that cut the price.

They would not let me use the coupon on the $1.46 bulb, i tried.

Not to say i have not taken advantage of clearance deals, i got a wall sconce for $3 after (government) coupon, dozens of $2ish 60W LEDs (coupon), Defiant lights, batteries, Brinkmann tabletop BBQ and so forth. Never 1 cent though :frowning:

WOW THAT WAS $1.46? Those are originally $25! They were the god of LED bulbs! I always wanted one.

They are not that great, they are probably closer to 2500k and only marginally brighter then a 60W equivalent. If you lived near me i would sell you some, but i’m sure the shipping would kill the deal.
Well worth $1.46, not worth $5
They are not the L prize light, a few generations later, but 2-3 generations old now, takes a second to light up after they get power

Sorry, I forgot.

Hey, if they don’t do the penny thing up there, not your fault right?

FlashPilot had me in WalMart looking for bargains a couple of weeks ago
Boy, that place is strrrrraaange!

oh yeah, one more.

date on clearance tag of 02/24/16
I never noticed any Wiss products on clearance until now

Just came back from my local HD, no luck! :frowning:

Yes the Chargers with 2 cells are now a penny

No worries :+1:
Is it wrong to wish they crushed things here so i could buy for a penny?

oh master dchomak - how did you suspect that wiss tool would have penny’d out? it is a 0 price that does not seem to have a wind down schedule, and the date is fairly recent.
