New Mr.Lite AA = J4 now @ Lightake.com

Sounding good. Looking at the J1, J2 and J3 pics on the MrLite website, they appear to be antireflection coated glass and the cloudiness may just be an artefact of the way it is lit. I have seen such "cloudiness" from camera lenses when lit from the side.

However, the J4 is styled very differently from the J1-3 so may be a completely different light internally.

A J3 with our choice of modes might be attractive to many, though personally I prefer the more restrained styling of the J4. I'm not a big fan of pocket clips, they don't seem to work for me - I much prefer the Batbelt approach with holsters on a belt.

Looks like rendered/3D images to me, Don Not real photos I think.

Looking at those photos @ LT, J4 seems to be a CR123 light and not AA

BTW, fran, it costs $20,99, so lil bit more than 20

I think he was being sarcastic... but obviously google translation hasn't a Spanish -> English sarcasm exporter.

I am on the verge of ordering this light, but now i am curious about sashiX's comment. I'll wait to see if mr. lightake has anything to say about this light :)

It does look a little short on the pictures... but if the technical specifications are right it measures 102X23 mm , which is a little thicker than most 1xAAs. Daniel send me technical specs via skype... they also say 1AA...hmmm... but they also say >Replaceable and rechargeable lithium polymer battery<... pics 1,3,4 look like for a 1x123 battery and pic 2 like 1xAA... totally confused... maybe they just used rendering pics and we will see a whole flashlight family with different models and they just used them for advertising.. dunno.

Update: The pic 2 clearly shows a different light... look where the knurling begins.

D'oh! No, really, I hardly use it. Still remember the english I studied in school Not as good as it was before, I have to recognize it. lol

UPDATE: as for the light... it's the same light on all pics 3 and 4 pics are the same.

I meant fran82 with his shout-out , with the sarcasm - "AH YES!!!! Less than 20 dollars!" because Daniel mentioned that it could be cheaper than 20 bucks... but he didn't promise.

It's so crowded here nowadays - I really should start use your "@"-methode. Look at the body of pic2 ... doesn't it seem to be longer and sleeker?... also the knurling doesn't connect with the next part of the flashlight-body. But you have to look hard... it is better visible HERE (1+2 =123 ; 3=AA).

I dont think it has any sort of LENS , I think its just an optical illusion from the reflector behind the lens [ regular ] ..

Yeah , that body does look a bit like a CR123A host . Though Pic 2 does look more AA , hmmm , could it be , AA / 14500 ?

Some very interesting Spec's to be sure ....

You are aware that this is most likely a rendered pic? (concerning the lens) No voltage is mentioned... just 1XAA.

Yes

But if you look at the pictures , I can see no evidence of it being anything but a normal set up ...

So until some one has it in there hot little hand , I guess speculation will be the go ....

Haha, I thought you were talkin' about Don's post Yes, you should use "@" marks or something lol

Regarding the light... sorry, vectrex, can't see any differences Yep, it seems to be longer and sleeker, but can't see those knurling differences you talkin' about.

BTW, could be rendered pics, yes.

Maybe they want to use 1 head and 1 tailcap for both configurations, so there will be a J5 (123) with just another battery tube.

Other premium light manufacturers have done this before... ITP,Fenix, Quark. This would also explain the 23mm width.

Just to heat up the speculation. Maybe I have eaten too much Spekulatius.

knurling has no direct contact with next body part

knurling with direct contact with next body part

Aaaahhh! Got it. But I think that those joint lines isn't visible because of the image size. It's smaller, and I think JPEG compression just "ate" them

The same principle is applying to the ITP C7 you intend to buy, there are different body tubes available (AA,2AA,123).

Could be, vectrex, I don't discard it, but I think that we simply can't see those joint lines Should we wait Don's review to confirm it? LOL

You can't see them ... I can. lol. But you are right speculation about pre-rendered pics leads us nowhere ... except more speculation. Willing to take bets? Who is the hero to count the knurling diamonds in longitudinal direction... I think I should go to bed..

Ha-ha, hands down here, my friend LOL Two different lights, one I supose it's for R123 and the other is for AA (and 14500 probably). Good night

I just chatted with Daniel, and he has a silver colored 4-mode version in his hand that he is about to photograph and shoot videos. But I think we'll have to be patient because it sounds like Mrlite is swamped and there will be some initial stock shortages.

Hello everyone! I am obviously new here. I just wanted to say that the forum is great and everyone seems friendly. After reading this thread I decided to order this light. An impulse purchase no doubt. It just looks really well built to me. I will let everyone know what I find out. It seems like good value for what you get though. Seems very similar to the KC-05 except that it's a 1xaa instead of a 1xaaa. Hopefully this light will accept a 14500.

My wife keeps asking me what the heck am I going to do with all these flashlights? Lol. They just seem cool to me.
