Cree changed production process for XP-G2 emitters!

Don’t get me wrong… But you did not read a word from this thread. Which person stated that there is no performance difference between them?

New production process XP-G2 has:

- slightly bigger dice or die,

- the number of dots on the die have increased, the phosfor is rougher.

- the tint of the phosfor is a bit more orange with small red bits in it which are absent in the old die

• when de domed it brings lower performance in all flashlight configuration you can imagine

Read first post of this thread you got plenty of info there

But that really don’t concerns me any more… You can think that you got bingo with new production type XP-G2(you are one of rare persons who think so)

What concerns me now is that new XP-G3 also fails to bring performance of good old XP-G2 S4 2B

Djozz that test is more than adequate to me. Not even pure de dome(without slicing) can’t improve it that much.

He never replied or confirmed he has “old” ones.

He could easy make group buy for us (if he has old reel) and I am sure he would reach 1000pcs order in less than 1 week.

But everyone seems to do business on their way so I respect that.

He won’t make a group buy , it’s obvious because he only send with expensive shipping overseas .
All the 2B stock is from August 15 (asked welight this morning) the same as those Mitko received .

If someone from AU wants to do it it’s something i don’t know .

It seems that Cutter has them but he does not want to reply and confirm with macro shot that they are good old ones.

I would order from him… And it is really not problem to spot differences between “new” terrible(el terrible :confounded: ) emitter and good old one :+1:

Is simple math…

Take macro shot of that reel… No need for group buy but owner of that store should confirm that they are old ones. No one wants to invest 500-1000 or more $ to get Mr. “New” :confounded:

I recomment you Newark, the past year i bought some high CRI cob emitters for my home interior from them, the order was for arround 120$, the shipping 42 via DHL and they tried to charge me 185$ for the ” packing, handling and freight”…

Who knows, maybe they started packaging in stainless steel gold plated boxes or something

I’m about to remove the S42B from my meteor and replace them with XP-G3s, my meteor is from the first batch they should be the good stuff right?

I don’t commercially mod flashlights so perhaps I can sell a couple!

Edit: I must first wait for a CW XP-G3 and know for sure the output under a carclo is better before swapping them… Will let you guys know.
