Toykeeper Appreciation Gift _ Hardware Upgrades

I want to donate 15, I sent a PM to dash..

Paypal was already sent to JoshK. Thanks

Maybe you can use my 15 for shipping? Put some cash in there? I really did not want to be late to give.

I've always given support in the forums for her work. Also love using the firmwares.

We far surpassed our goal. So, let’s stop adding to the list. PM sent to all contributors.

Now, what to buy?

I’ve got a couple of PM’s in to Tom E and to Richard at RMM. I’ll report back my findings. Any other suggestions?

Hardware apparently.

Another suggestion:

A hot-air soldering station to help build circuits.

An adjustable CC/CV power supply? Pretty decent ones for about $60 on Banggood.

Spoken like a true workaholic.

I refunded leroycp.

Chain maille for the next Sorcerer’s convention…Sexy Titanium Chain Maille in sky blue, or purple, or gold or a rainbow of patterns… it won’t rust!. :stuck_out_tongue: You can hang a flashlight virtually anywhere on this stuff! Just sayin… (discovered this looking for titanium rings to mount a small flashlight to a Ti gatehook for the key chain)

When I joined BLF, not too long ago, I was looking for good deals. Then I realized that the real benefit of BLF is all the knowledge that I could gain, which really excited me because I love to learn.

But the more I read, the more impressed I have become with the sense of community here at BLF. Members from around the globe supporting each other and working together towards the furtherment of a mutual interest. One might call it, enlightenment.

Oopsie, only found this now, though I did answer the PM, didn't know all this. I'm in on this and can be a source for Tiny85 drivers. Only found this thread now - cool!! TK's been a great help, and provider of much re-use

I got maybe lights and drivers, could be fully assembled. I feel her best bet for development is the SupFire M2-Z because of it's easy access to the MCU for programming, but it's not an easy carry light - size of a C8.

Ok, just read above - about the proto SRK drivers... got some pm'ing to do. Will report back.

I really hate anything more then +1, have never used it and promise myself I will never do it again but in this one case I’ll make an exception
+10000000

Thank you, Josh!

Another good idea!

Sorry, missed this post. PM sent.

If I did not have a very decent power supply already, I would love this one:

Only disadvantage, no power supply from Banggood supplies more than 5A

Updated the OP with some of the possible ideas suggested thus far:

  • tiny25 e-switch light or anything with tiny85 or
  • “smart” lighted tailcap
  • dual-switch light
  • FET+1 e-switch light
  • any of the recent new-and-improved driver designs
  • Q8 Narsil prototype driver from Tom E
  • hot-air soldering station
  • adjustable CC/CV power supply

Seems like only yesterday when 5A would have been more than enough. For the work that TK is contemplating, I would think that somewhere between 7A to 10A would be needed - and that would only take care of today’s technology.

Hence a 20+A is needed.
If TK is up for this AMD funds are short I gladly up my $2,50 to $10 and are confident others will not mind stepping in given the extreme short period people could enter this

I remember that TomE has done a search for an affordable power supply two years ago.
(I myself decided for my tests a EA 20A lineair power supply that can still be regarded as budget but still is a bit more expensive than the aim for this undertaking)
