Armtek Wizard Pro xhp50 2300 lumens!

I received my Wizard Pro v3 XHP50 few days ago. From Ontario, Canada, it took 48 hours.

I am very impressed, I had already for the last year the Wizard v2 XM-L2 which I love for camping in the bush. I do mostly my camping by private airplane with friends.

For more pics you can take a look at my Web site.

This is my first post here, I try my best to write in english because my mother's tongue is french.

G'Day CampingMaster,

Welcome to BLF.

Btw, you will soon realise that BLF is a much more friendly & productive community than the "other" forum where I have seen your recent posts.

Best Regards,

George

Hey hey ! Thank you !

-I’m really curious about how they can boost a single 4.2V cell to 12+V for this XHP-35?
I just modified one of LED4POWER’s LD-2 drivers to take 4 cells to the XHP-35, in an MaxTOCH Shooter 2X it’s pulling 2.89A and making 2346 lumens. It’s difficult enough to boost an 18650 to run a 6V emitter, but a 12+V? I’m running 4 LG HE-2 cells to this one.
Someone please enlighten me how such an emitter can be run off a single cell…-

My bad, sorry, I see now it’s an XHP-50. Even still, they’re not in any way going to get close to 2300 lumens boosting from a single cell, ain’t gonna happen, and even if it did it’d be way too hot to have on a persons head and the cell would be dead in minutes….

the XHP50 in the wizard is a 6V emitter

… or did you want to post in the U21 thread?

The U21 is supposed to be a XHP-35 from a single cell? Ugh

I just read something wrong and was assuming by the 2300 lumens that the ArmyTek was a 35, got confused I guess. Too many variations these days and I just built a 35 yesterday so it was fresh on my mind. Sorry about that.

Very well aware that the XHP-50 is 6V, I just put 3 of em in an X6 for 5300 lumens on a pair of 18350’s.

some one please hurry up and do a review this light is awsome it should be able to keep my balding head warm when I am fishing at night lol. I would be guessing on turbo run time would be like 20 mins.

I will do a review as soon as I get mine and compare it to other 2,000lm lights and 1,000lm headlamps. Should be getting it wednesday next week.

BTW I just saw M4D M4X has a even better price for the Wizard V3… I wish I knew when I ordered mine: https://m4dm4x.com/2016/05/12/armytek-wizard-pro-v3-xhp50

WOW - that is a very good price!

Thanks for the tip. Just ordered one. My first purchase through HKE, I assume they are A1 to deal with? M4DM4X seems to be pretty well trusted on here?

Does anyone know the color temps or tints used in these? My ideal tint is 5A , or 5B or somewhere between 4K to 5K.

My armytek wizard pro V1 warm white to too warm. I think its a 7bin around 3K, which is too warm for me.

I wish armytek would post these specs.

I got a great discounted price from illumn.com. Can’t say what the price is, but it’s awesome.

Here’s the link

I ordered mine from illumn.com for an incredible price with free shipping in the USA. I should have it in a few days.

I just received an reply from Armytek asking this very question.

Dear Robert.

Cool White - 5500-6000K
Neutral White - 4500K.

If you have some more questions, please, feel free to contact me.

Sincerely yours, Sandra.

Thanks for posting that.

Calvin at illumn said he guesses its between 3-4K for the Wizard PRO XHP50 Warm model.

So Im not sure what to think. Maybe I’ll just wait for some beam shots.

I took a quick beamshot, color balance may be a bit off, but you can get a relative gauge.

Looks great Calvin, thanks for that. I just want to be sure but reading some threads you need to use an IMR or a 10 amp capable protected battery right?

For getting the max brightness out of the Turbo2 yes, I’ve used 18650 Protected Keeppower 2600mAh Samsung 26Fs without tripping the protection circuit. If you have any decent battery I’m sure you’ll be fine. The issue is when people use lower quality protected batteries and it trips the circuit.

Thanks Calvin for posting those beamshots. That picture really clears up the missing spec that Armytek left out.

Just got my Wizard Pro V3 a couple minutes ago…

First impressions:
-Fantastic build quality
-Slightly HA mismatch, head color is lighter than the body, not a big deal
-It produces a nice large, smooth spot with no visible artifacts.
-My CW doesn’t seem CW at all, it is about 5000K in the lower modes and 5500K in the highest mode. Compared to a XPL HI V2 1A it looks almost warm. It does say “white light” in the head so I guess they sent me the correct version? Edit: after comparing it to some other tints, I’ll have to say it has some green to it.
-Does it feel like a 2,300lm light? YES  but the lux reading might tell otherwise

And the most important question… amp draw? (with near-full 30Q)
-Turbo 1: 1.95A
-Turbo 2: 5.6A

Since I no longer have other headlamps to compare this with, I don’t plan to do a review. But will provide more data including a run time chart.
