My vote is for kit with the winner’s option to have assembled. Reason being an experienced winner may want to build the kit with their own emitter, and may have other plans for the Nichia. Otherwise, an inexperienced modder may prefer to have a light built in a fully assembled state.
Option 3 here. Polls should always have a joke option
I also like the idea of a kit… some may want it put together and that should be an option with the kit. That will be one monster flooder!

Depends - are you interested in maximizing participation, or getting potentially more enthusiasm from fewer (more serious) members?
If you just want as many people involved as possible, a fully built light is the clear answer, as an experienced modder can always take something apart if they desire. But a total beginner probably wouldn’t be interested in a loose-parts kit.
But since I suspect you were asking for individual opinions, I voted kit, since that sounds more interesting to me.

It’s a giveaway.
Either option is fine for me.
However, if an experience modder has “other plans” for the Nichias that modder can always open the light and remove them. This may not be the case for someone who doesn’t mod at all and would have no use for the kit.
