Has anyone seen or heard from MEM?

Hey mate look him up on CPF? He sells lights there? You should be able to find out if he is legit!

That suits your trolling perfectly.

I have to agree with The Miller here. Sure you have a right to be upset about the lack of communication but the thread title is a little harsh. I don’t know him personally but we’ve had some good conversations via PM and the guy really knows his stuff. Also worth noting that a few of those PMs went like a month before he responded. Many of those messages indicated that he was very busy and travelling a lot on business. I get your frustration but I’d probably change the title. Your call of course. I hope this all gets resolved.

Hopefully MEM will personally chime in here and solve OP issue when he comes back. Seems like he has not logged in for about a week now…

I think there is a need for a place for such comments and posted my suggestion in the rudeness thread but basically it’s just having a “reviews” link in the op of sales/GB threads so that others(including the op author) can see whether there’s a pattern of action or inaction. Some guys take awhile to figure this stuff out. They need feedback and while it should be easy to access it doesn’t have to be front page news.

I should have a tricked out D80 from him soon and will be posting beamshots and outputs when that happens.

I’m right here guys, I have been gone for 1 week.

Blueballs, I messaged you, and I am sorry that you feel I am scammer. I can certainly refund you at any time if you ask me to, as with any customers who haven’t received something.

Also extremely sorry that I was gone. I was supposed to be done traveling for the summer. :person_facepalming:

I do compensate for things like this that are my fault. Well, I try my best to do a lot better than Gearbest does to understand problems, anyways.

For the record, I will hopefully have time tomorrow, but will definitely have time Thursday of this week to make shipments.

Sharpie,

You are clearly someone who has great issue with me being here. I am not sure what your problem is with what I have done while being here, but it sounds like you are not fond of me posting here simply because you cannot always comprehend the technical subjects which I am trying to convey as best I can. You have never sent me a single private message that I can recall. If a member does not understand something another member has written, the general and polite way that they can solve their problems is via direct communication with the author. Name calling of the subjects because they simply aren’t worded the way you can understand them is a zero progress game. When school math classes become challenging, I can assure you that writing slanders at the book author as graffiti in the book, still will not help you to learn the mathematics.

You have said things above that I have never said or made claim to before. I have completely described tint shift, as have many others here. In the thread about dedoming, I am not sure how anything I added was any less productive than the next person. If I am doing something special that I would like to keep my own secret, I feel that is my right to do. It is every bit your right to make something your secret, or figure it out, and show the world that you did. If I make a claim like dedoming the XP-G3, many wouldn’t believe it without vision, therefore I provided a complete video to support it. For example, here are two separate videos I made for the forum supporting it; XP-G3 and XP-L V6: MEM Dedomes Cree XP-G3 S5 3A on Vimeo and XP-L V6: MEM Dedomes Cree XP-L V6 0D LED - Timelapse on Vimeo The next time that I write a technical post, you are more than welcome to message me if you do not understand the subject and you would like to. I can only go as far as to try to help, the rest is up to you.

Great post MEM
When a member who has profound knowledge about the flashlight workings is offline for a longer period of time I sometimes get a bit worried,
Now with this OP i did get worried all was well but I am not in a position or had a specific question for you to justify a PM.
Glad you responded man! Thanks.

Hi guys, please discuss the issues at hand, but keep it civil.

Happy and glad to see you back MEM! I apolize for jumping the gun and thought you could have possibly scammed me. But I felt like I lost communication with you. The first 2 weeks , we had frequent messaging. In the one month span, there was a previous time where you didn’t respond to any of my messages for 8 days, and even then, I didn’t think for one bit, that I was getting scammed. Because I can see that you were still visiting blf.

But this last time, It was a bit different. I messaged a number of times and even said this transaction is taking a bit longer than expected and if the light has not yet been shipped, I ll just take a refund. And so when I see that your last visited blf day was 5 days ago, I thought you jumped ship!

Well anyways, I’m sorry again and no hard feelings.

(I beleive he is know as the inventor of the reflective aperture around here)

viperbart, I’ve never heard about that tech and google is no help. Could you elaborate on the subject or point to the discussion/info? Is it related to Wavien RLT?

MEM, next week when you read this message, I suggest you put a disclaimer in any sales thread you start, stating that communication is limited to poor. :stuck_out_tongue: I followed one thread of yours for a while only to realize that the updates were so spaced out that i could forget it for a month and not miss much. lol. blueb8lls may not have known this so I agree with the initial title of this thread given his experience. A disclaimer would reduce anxiety a lot.

Wow! I didn’t know that thread existed! Thanks for the link! :sunglasses:

I was watching that thread, modified olight flashlights on sale.
I had an impression that those lights are all already modified and ready for shipping!
Shipping to EU was a bit high so I wasn’t motivated to buy.

Unless of course your job takes you out of town for a week or two at a time and sometimes unexpectedly. Then it would definitely be a problem.

And throw in an OCD that leans towards a need for absolute perfection and one is tweaking a light to the Nth degree before sending it out.

+1

That wouldn’t be a problem for him if he was actually Mr fantastic He could make the lights from where ever he was lol! I could use these arms right i am outside playing with a light meter in 5 degree weather!

Edit, deleted off topic.

I get the feeling blueballs ordered the g3 version instead of the limited run g2.

If I understood him correctly, the limited run g2 javelots are complete and ready to go. Mem does state that he “can” change it to a dedomed xpg3 or xpl, and then later on, mentions that he is still in the process of fabricating a tool that can allow him to access the driver more easily.

Via pm, he told me that he can drop in a dedomed g3 but that the stock driver only supplies 4 amps. This works without problems but he mentioned that the full potential of the xpg3 requires more current. I opted to wait for his findings on a current boost and am still waiting.

Again, I think blueballs went the same route as me with a high current g3 so these are not “off the shelf” products that was ready for immediate shipment.

Besides, surely mem has a job and other priorities to keep up this expensive light hobby.
