Has anyone seen or heard from MEM?

Unless of course your job takes you out of town for a week or two at a time and sometimes unexpectedly. Then it would definitely be a problem.

And throw in an OCD that leans towards a need for absolute perfection and one is tweaking a light to the Nth degree before sending it out.

+1

That wouldn’t be a problem for him if he was actually Mr fantastic He could make the lights from where ever he was lol! I could use these arms right i am outside playing with a light meter in 5 degree weather!

Edit, deleted off topic.

I get the feeling blueballs ordered the g3 version instead of the limited run g2.

If I understood him correctly, the limited run g2 javelots are complete and ready to go. Mem does state that he “can” change it to a dedomed xpg3 or xpl, and then later on, mentions that he is still in the process of fabricating a tool that can allow him to access the driver more easily.

Via pm, he told me that he can drop in a dedomed g3 but that the stock driver only supplies 4 amps. This works without problems but he mentioned that the full potential of the xpg3 requires more current. I opted to wait for his findings on a current boost and am still waiting.

Again, I think blueballs went the same route as me with a high current g3 so these are not “off the shelf” products that was ready for immediate shipment.

Besides, surely mem has a job and other priorities to keep up this expensive light hobby.

Sharpie, thanks for the link. This indeed seems exactly as Wavien RLT from the descrription, but no photos so no way to tell for sure. There are videos on YT for Wavien tech.

Just for the record, I indeed ordered the simple xpg2 version. And those that think that this sale was a group buy, it is not. He told me he had the lights in hand already and even showed pictures of all lights.

I payed Jun 1. We had several frequent pm’s talking about his aspherics he can build and sell me. I told him, I’m ok for right now. And this is Jun 4.
I didn’t get a reply back so I Pm him on Jun 9. Asking if my light has shipped.
He replies back on Jun 10. Saying sorry I thought I replied back.
He told me several people ordered some m3x’s that wanted to get their lights boosted with more amps. And that he was gonna mess around a bit. But he does have my light READY TO SHIP.
I told him, sure I’ll wait a few days too then because I’m curious to see if you can boost the amps. This is now Jun 12.

On Jun 15, I pmed asking how are things coming along? No reply
On Jun 17, I pmed saying if boosting amps is not a success, no worries, I’ll take the light as is.

He replies back on Jun 20, saying he will ship light out tomorrow. On June 22, I asked if the light has been shipped.
On Jun 26, I politely said , please respond and let me know what’s going on? If things are bad, I don’t mind just getting a refund. But please just give some kind of response or I will have to start a thread on this matter.
No response from him, which caused me to start this thread on Jun. 27.

So as you guys can see, the light was ready to ship from day 1. And I feel I was pretty patient even with his bad communication from the times where there was no response from 3-8 days apart.

Yes, he has replied back to this thread, but I still did not receive a shipped pm.
So I will keep everybody updated when this transaction is finally finished…… Haha

Ah, and in that week when you were looking for a response, he was out of town with his work. And now he is either hurt or sick, seems to me he was coming down with the flu, so … and besides that he did state earlier that his first opportunity to ship anything would be Thursday.

Everyone here doesn’t march to the beat of the same drummer. ( I only mean, by that, everyone has different schedules and some have more taxing schedules than others. )

This is another way in which the forum has changed in the past year. People seem much more impatient than before, more uptight. Patience is not in abundance and it seems everyone is all to willing to slam someone for a perceived slight. Perhaps we all need to relax a bit and remember that this is a hobby, even for those doing custom work. Jobs, family, wives/girlfriends, floods, heat waves, air conditioning issues, we all have a lot to do and the modding time is limited. If that’s not true for everyone here, I’ve got a couple of acres I’m severely behind in mowing that I could use some help with…I’ve got a good swing blade, anybody?

Some folks call it a sling blade, I call it a Kaiser blade. Dale calls it a swing blade. Uh huh.

Dale has spent many hours swinging that blister producing, back-ache inspiring, shoulder searing implement. Dale can call it by a thousand curse words not allowed here. :stuck_out_tongue:

This is the one I’ve used to cut fields of 5’ tall Johnson grass, as well as many other weed infested areas.

Never seen something like this in useDale.
I use this unpronounceable thing

Not what I was thinking of Dale. I was thinking more like Miller’s, or the instrument of doom Billy Bob Thornton used in the Sling Blade movie.

I read, I see.

…it’s just, well, the world wide web is a big and wild place to venture, and sometimes the wide world is even wilder.

When I signed up here, I was just joining another forum, to be honest. Another hobby, like others, if you will. I probably don’t even cover 1/1000 of the monthly content generated at this site. When I signed up, I didn’t think I vowed to. Never thought that someone expected me to cover any more. I have posted in many threads, in many places online that I probably meant to return to, yet never did. A private message could still be used to contact me though, if someone from the past wanted to catch up on something I had long forgotten about.

I haven’t really tried to add very much in this thread about what’s being discussed. For good reason, too. Even though that info could potentially add more degrees of detail for others entertainment, I will not use it here. This is because I respect the privacy of other users who make private sales with me. This man who started the thread was concerned because his money was involved. We all don’t have the same level of patience, and I was out of contact for 8 days. I can still understand and respect the logic behind him starting this thread, since it was his. It’s a good feeling to know one can still express their own logic when they want to freely, at times of course. I don’t know what kind of person would go around calling upon other members to produce private sale information for their own self-indulgence and nothing more, without their own money at stake or involved. Some people may not want certain sales to be known or disclosed online for whatever their own reasons could be. I’ll try not to make any such calls myself upon other users.

As far as me personally? I believe that I can still keep walking when there’s only bumps along my path.

I call it a sun burn.

I think when you have way to much to do it makes things harder! Like you don’t know where to start. Plus every one has other obligations.

Maybe make a few generic emails so you can email a group at once about what is going on with the builds. Or make a disclaimer and make people sign it before they buy lol

One man can only do so much at one time.

Ah, The Miller, that’s a scythe (not sure what’s right, I call it “sigh-th with the th sound in the beginning of the). Like the other one, the Kaiser, it’s a two handed operation and the scythe is used in a sweeping movement, one direction.

The one I pictured is typically used one handed, swung back and forth in long arcs for power, such that it cuts in each direction. It takes a bump or a quick push at the end stroke to make the cut weeds fall clear. Killer on the shoulders and back. We have both of the others and I’ve used the Kaiser for more brushy work, the scythe is a hay cutting tool, they still use those a lot in some countries and have competitions laying out the harvest with the razor sharp scythe, judging not only on speed but uniformity of the cut and style. The one I pictured doesn’t do well with even a small tree or tough fibrous weed, it can flex the mounting arms. It’s basically a weed clearer.

Of course, you’re right MEM. There’s not an obligation to post, there are quite a lot of folks that merely read and never post, hence the much greater number of reads than posts in some threads. And people are busy, with little time these days to spare. So it only makes sense that a busy person checks something they want to know and go on. I’m one of those that has no life, am here more than anywhere, so yeah I have a very high post count.

For me it’s more of a medical issue, much easier for me to be active in this virtual world than the real one.

lol! Is your name Carl?

I own a couple of scythes and used them on a post-forest-fire botanical restoration project for years
(beheading aggressive annual invasive grasses before they set seed, to give the slower-growing perennial natives a chance to come back.)

I shouldn’t have read the thread from the bottom up… I though people were talking about a flashlight called the Scythe. :stuck_out_tongue:

Fingers crossed that Mem delivers and everyone is happy forever!

I like them French fried potaters.
