Home Depot Deal Alerts & Discussion Thread

I almost had a great find. I was at a store across town and came upon 6 boxes of white birch wooden flooring priced at $53.83 each with a date from February so I thought I would haul one up and check the price. It turned out it was no longer in the system! I didn’t think it would do any good to ask an associate so I left them on the floor at the clearance end cap.

@ radioshaq- my local stores are similar, each with it’s own way of doing things and none with penny deals yet. Frustrating, but just how it goes.

I used the Eveready worklight on high with 8 cheap alki’s in it painting and it performs better than what I expected it would for ~300L. A rough guess is maybe 4 hours before V-threshold shut it down without warning. Not something I’d want to feed regularly but can’t be beat for the price. I’m going to want a couple more from the “dchomak store” as soon as I can figure out what else I can fill the rest of the flat-rate box with.

Phil

Yeah - this one local store doesn’t want to get with the system i guess  the other two are generally in sync.

Some stuff I found for a penny today.
Seems like everyone is finding the LED under counter lights. I found some last week on my trip and I found these 3 today.

For me, this is a new MR16 bulb that has gone to a penny. I had been finding 350 Lumen ones, now this one, a 500 Lumen bulb.

Date of 03/28/16, should be old enough………

Look for the “224” in the upper right hand corner. The older 350 Lumen bulb is “051”

This is a 7 emitter bulb with optics and has a CRI of 90.

This is a TCP Brand internet connected bulb and gateway starter kit. It is compatible with the WINK app. I have been seeing the bulbs sold separately and they claimed they were compatible with the WINK hub. All TCP “connected” hardware went on clearance at the “00” price (slight discount) and suddenly they were gone. Removed before going to a 6 or 3 price. The only remaining TCP connected hardware, as far as I can see, is the connected spotlight at the full price of $39.97.

I will post my finds during my trip to Ohio when I can organized

You win some, you loose some,

Over the last 2 weeks I have seen a couple of other air compressors on clearance. These are other than the 2 I posted earlier.
This one is an 8 gallon, 1 1/2 horse power rolling compressor that was originally $129.00. When it first went on clearance, it went for $92.00. Then just a couple of weeks ago it hit the “06” price, $91.06

Then today, when I was in one of my 2 local HD’s I came across this.

Trouble was, they were all gone and they would NOT sell me the display! I asked about stock in other stores, and all stores within a 25 mile radius either had none or a good supply. To me that meant that any store that had them for $33.03 would have sold out immediately and those that had not yet lowered the price would have stock. My other “home town” store 5 miles away showed plenty of stock but when I got there, they were not on the floor. I checked the price and they were still $91.06. Strange that they should be pulled but still in stock. Employee’s?
Another compressor I have been watching is the HDX “Pancake” compressor. Originally $59.00, it was reduced to $42.00 in some stores and $39.00 in others. 2 weeks ago, it too was reduced to the “6” price. The stores that had them at $39.00 were reduced to $38.06 and the stores that had them at $42.00 reduced them to $41.06

But today, in the same store that had reduced the 8 Gallon compressor to $33.03 did this.
SOLD OUT

I also checked for stock on this baby and like the other, stores around me either had none or a good number. My other home town store shows stock of 13, but only 3 are on the floor, and yes, they are priced at $41.06. There is hope for me on this because the 3 that are on the floor are not priced as of today. I could have a chance on these when and if they turn to $15.03

Also I ran into an awesome set of prices on lawn tractor batteries and accessories. All at the “3” price, 75% off. Here are the pictures.
These were NOT reduced at all in the other hometown store.

EVERYTHING 75% off!

Also I came across the “hearse” and the undertakers. They were pulling EcoSmart bulbs and marking them at a penny.

Anything with a date of 04/04/2016 was being pulled. Other stores with that date still have the “3” price. Any day now for those stores…….

Over the last couple of weeks I have been able to find many, many bulbs for a penny at the various stores I had been to.

Cool! I have been watching a ton of those 4/4 ecosmarts. hope to get there before the undertakers.

Yeah, they don’t all turn on the same day at each store.

Today I also found 3 more of these, way under a shelf, way in the back on the floor. Behind the Linksys router.

“picking up the pennies”

i used to feel self conscious crawling around and underneath - now i am just a shameless dumpster diver. haven’t yet gotten to the recycle bin yet; mostly because i have not remembered while at the store.

DUUUUUUUDE…. Dave your Home Depot stores are so much better than mine. Or likely anyone elses. lol. So many things I’d buy if I saw them in my store at those prices. But Nooooo… my stupid HD keeps all their clearance bulbs at $5 even for 2 months… and never clearances out anything super good like those air compressors…

Jerks.

LOL,
It’s true, sometimes I feel as though I have just stepped into the twilight zone when I enter a Home Depot.
For example this morning I figured I would travel the 13 miles to the other store that had stock on those 2 new compressors that went to the 3 price. When I got there I found that they were STILL at the “6” price of 91.06 and 41.06. BUT when I looked UP at the overhead I saw this!

As there were 6 “Orange Locusts” as I call them (a private company HD hires to occasionally go through the store and cull outdated, damaged and penny items)
It’s hard to see all 6 workers, but here they are.

I asked one of them to bring down 1 of those compressors. I could see from the floor that there were 9 of the 3 gallon, 1HP compressors that were $33 2 weeks ago. This store was out of stock back then, where did these 9 come from? and how much would they scan for? There is no posted price.
Brought one up to self checkout not knowing if it would scan for a penny, full list price or what. I was actually hoping for $33.00 and I got my wish.
I made a couple of phone calls to friends and picked up 4 more.
This is today, July 12 at 9:40AM

All I am saying is do not give up!!!
Then this afternoon I had an appointment with my accountant 15 miles north of our home. After that I decided to travel another 10 miles due north to check out another HD just over the Massachusetts State Line.
Wouldn’t you know, looking UP once again in the overhead I found the 2 newer compressors at the “3” price!!!
Here are 6 of the pancake compressors at $15.03

and there were 4 of the bigger 8 Gallon, 1 1/2 HP model at $33.03

The other 2 I left there elsewhere on the overhead, some distance from these 2.

So I grabbed what I could fit in the back seat of the car, 2 - 8 Gallon and 4 pancake compressors.
Sales slip from today, July 12 at 3:06PM

Of course later I went back in and found some penny deals.
My first 4/4/2016 EcoSmart bulbs.
Found 2 of these

And 3 of these. The 3 flood lights on the right were a penny.

All other 4/4/2016 bulbs had been pulled.

I found some screws, GRK, packs of 20, bit included, for 58¢ discounted from about $1. I wanted to get more but the next time I could not find them.
One of these days I need to take a picture…

Also today I found 100’ medium-duty orange swan garden hoses, for $12.00, discounted from about $15. I found them in two stores so you’ll probably find them.

Also I discovered a “bath clearance” in one Home Depot and right there in my face was a handheld shower for about $6 discounted from about $26 (though package was messed up). I grabbed it and ran off

Sometimes HD makes it too easy. Once in a great while I see something like this.

There is only 1 bulb here and the package had been opened, so I figured it was intentional. But in another place in the store I found more on an upper shelf, just above eye level.

On the same clearance endcap another item was actually marked at a penny. This is a valve key for a recessed gas line for a fireplace. We have one installed so it’s good to a couple of spare keys.

Home Depot is now carrying the “Pop Drop” This is a mini bluetooth speaker that really is nice. It’s small enough to fit in your pocket, yet really packs a punch. It actually has a sealed enclosure with a bass port.
An EDC bluetooth speaker! It doubles as a handsfree for your cellphone as it also contains a microphone.
I first came across these at Radio Shack when they were in clearance mode while shutting down a lot of stores. Their regular price was 24.97, had them on clearance for 7.97 and had special promotions that netted out to $4. I bought quite a lot a gifted most of them. If Home Depot ever clears these out, the “3” price would probably be $5.03. An awesome deal if it ever happens. To find 1 at a penny, well that would be just fine with me!

HD seems to only be carrying black. Here is a red one from Radio Shack

#852-955, The 3D Max Defiant light is still up there. The date of the newspaper is yesterday, July 14.
Looks like someone just couldn’t restrain themselves any longer and went up and grabbed 1. :innocent:
Those lights at a penny is what is called an “attractive nuisance”

I posted about these last week. I brought one up because, date wise, it should have gone from $6.04” to $3.02 but it hadn’t. Yesterday I tried again. This time a penny.

Today I found an “Evaporative Cooler Valve” in the box of what was supposed to be boiler drain valves but was mostly lots of other random valves. It had a clearance sticker that said $1.83 but it was actually 1¢.

It’s a weird valve, it has a female hose input, and it has a threaded hole on the side. I don’t know how I can use this, especially with the hole.
I know nothing about its intended “Evaporative Cooler” application so I’ll need to discover that.
Edit: Ok I discovered what this valve is for; you connect it on your hose bibb and the small hole is used to attach a needle valve to connect a small tube to an evaporative cooler, and it has a valve and male hose thread so you can still use your water outlet.

I was traveling today, as I often do, stopping in Home Depots along the way. Any one who has been to a Home Depot knows that most of the stores look like something like this.

Well today I must have found, as SawMaster would describe it, “God’s own Home Depot”. In fact just after I took these pictures I dropped to my knees and crawled on my belly all the way thru the entrance.
Of course once inside I came to my senses and immediately started scouting for penny deals. I found some too.
My question though is this.
IF I find and purchase penny items in “God’s own Home Depot”, am I damned for life?

God’s Depot needs some parking lot maintenance

I think it’s from the rumblings from “down below”

And speaking of God’s own Home Depot, poiihy, I notice you seem to be preoccupied with all things that have to do with water
When an infant, did you happen to have a traumatic experience during Baptism?

I thought you might appreciate this deal. I got the last one. It’s called a “Green and Grow” 50’ medium duty garden hose.

well played

I was looking this weekend to get one of those, do you resell your finds?
