Home Depot Deal Alerts & Discussion Thread

Sometimes HD makes it too easy. Once in a great while I see something like this.

There is only 1 bulb here and the package had been opened, so I figured it was intentional. But in another place in the store I found more on an upper shelf, just above eye level.

On the same clearance endcap another item was actually marked at a penny. This is a valve key for a recessed gas line for a fireplace. We have one installed so it’s good to a couple of spare keys.

Home Depot is now carrying the “Pop Drop” This is a mini bluetooth speaker that really is nice. It’s small enough to fit in your pocket, yet really packs a punch. It actually has a sealed enclosure with a bass port.
An EDC bluetooth speaker! It doubles as a handsfree for your cellphone as it also contains a microphone.
I first came across these at Radio Shack when they were in clearance mode while shutting down a lot of stores. Their regular price was 24.97, had them on clearance for 7.97 and had special promotions that netted out to $4. I bought quite a lot a gifted most of them. If Home Depot ever clears these out, the “3” price would probably be $5.03. An awesome deal if it ever happens. To find 1 at a penny, well that would be just fine with me!

HD seems to only be carrying black. Here is a red one from Radio Shack

#852-955, The 3D Max Defiant light is still up there. The date of the newspaper is yesterday, July 14.
Looks like someone just couldn’t restrain themselves any longer and went up and grabbed 1. :innocent:
Those lights at a penny is what is called an “attractive nuisance”

I posted about these last week. I brought one up because, date wise, it should have gone from $6.04” to $3.02 but it hadn’t. Yesterday I tried again. This time a penny.

Today I found an “Evaporative Cooler Valve” in the box of what was supposed to be boiler drain valves but was mostly lots of other random valves. It had a clearance sticker that said $1.83 but it was actually 1¢.

It’s a weird valve, it has a female hose input, and it has a threaded hole on the side. I don’t know how I can use this, especially with the hole.
I know nothing about its intended “Evaporative Cooler” application so I’ll need to discover that.
Edit: Ok I discovered what this valve is for; you connect it on your hose bibb and the small hole is used to attach a needle valve to connect a small tube to an evaporative cooler, and it has a valve and male hose thread so you can still use your water outlet.

I was traveling today, as I often do, stopping in Home Depots along the way. Any one who has been to a Home Depot knows that most of the stores look like something like this.

Well today I must have found, as SawMaster would describe it, “God’s own Home Depot”. In fact just after I took these pictures I dropped to my knees and crawled on my belly all the way thru the entrance.
Of course once inside I came to my senses and immediately started scouting for penny deals. I found some too.
My question though is this.
IF I find and purchase penny items in “God’s own Home Depot”, am I damned for life?

God’s Depot needs some parking lot maintenance

I think it’s from the rumblings from “down below”

And speaking of God’s own Home Depot, poiihy, I notice you seem to be preoccupied with all things that have to do with water
When an infant, did you happen to have a traumatic experience during Baptism?

I thought you might appreciate this deal. I got the last one. It’s called a “Green and Grow” 50’ medium duty garden hose.

well played

I was looking this weekend to get one of those, do you resell your finds?

Some times I give a penny deal away. Trouble with this light is that it is HUGE, more expensive to ship that what it cost when it was at the “3” price, which was $6.33.
There are still some TCP connected floods on the floors, at the full price of $39.97. All other TCP connected stuff was pulled though.
I suppose there is still a chance that last bulb could go on clearance. Also, radioshaq reports that the WINK bulbs are still at the 3 price in his area.

LOL I was referring to the Wifi Router :person_facepalming: Was that on sale?

oop’s
This being a light forum and all, I just assumed you were referring to the flood lights.
Silly me
No, the router was full price, $99 I think.

previously it was electricity
Last year I was into electrics and this year I’m into plumbing :stuck_out_tongue:

just don’t mix the two

So today I found another one of those evaporative cooler valves at the same place, but this one was an old one that didn’t have a tag on it but it had the number written on it.
Pressing the button for an item with no barcode at self-checkout rings up the attendant so I just left it.

What’s with Home Depot selling used stuff? Sometimes I find a fitting or something that looks old and/or even used, and they dont have a tag so they write the number on it with a marker. At the place where I got the 1¢ evaporative cooler valve, the box for the 3/4 boiler drains had only two of the boiler drains, which were both old and had a manky tag, they seemed like they were on the shelves for 20 years :stuck_out_tongue:
I once saw a bunch of 1” Sharkbite elbows that were obviously used for a while, but they were for sale with the other elbows :confounded:

Also I found an old hose bibb that someone left there; I think what happened is they had a hose bibb that was leaking from the stem packing so they brought the device with them to the store to get a replacement, and left the old one there. So I took it.
What most people don’t know is if you have a valve leaking from the stem, all you need to do is tighten the packing nut. It’s typical for the stems to leak after a while and all you have to do is tighten it a little. If it’s tightened in all the way and there’s no more squish left in the packing, you can just add new packing. Most people don’t know any of this so when they have a hose bibb leaking from the handle, they go out and buy a new one. A new crappy not-lead-free Mueller one from Home Depot, when the old one was a good quality Arrowhead Brass lead free bibb.

I use electrical conduit straps on PW pipe

Yeah, I know it is…………

We used to have a house like that

??

I have no use for compressors, but I finally gave in and went looking today after having seen you get so many. I found 2 of the 3 liters at one of the local HDs. Now if I were to get one, would you suggest I get this one or go looking for the pancake?

A few steps too slow… the locust got to most of the 4/4 ecosmarts that i had been circling last week at the 3 price. I knew they would be cleaned up by Friday, but wasn’t able to get there before that. Here are a few penny deals I found at clearance that the locust had missed

this one was from an earlier date. am already using it

I found 3 of these still in the regular bulb section. looks like the newer packagings are in multi-packs instead of these singles.

And found this below the clearance rack… told you guys i been dumpster diving without a care

I found 1 of the “174” bulbs (last 3 digits). It shouldn’t have been a penny, but was. If I remember correctly it’s date was 4/18.
Those other 2 bulbs I am not familiar with.
You are right, those orange locusts have defoliated much of the crop of penny lights. Here’s some other things to look for.

These are items that have been updated with new stock and new stock numbers, but look identical. The older numbers ring up for a penny.
This Black USB 2.1A car charger.
The one on the left with the number on the left top, last 3 digits 832, is a penny. The one on the right, last 3 digits 267, is 11.97 $7.97

Also This White USB 2.1A car charger is a penny. Numbers on the left, last 3 digits 601

Here is stack hanging on a hook. The 3 in the back are penny chargers
Notice the numbers on the left, the ones in the front are on the right and ring up for full price.

Also this. The one on the left, last 3 digits “894” in my hand is a penny. The one on the right, last 3 digits “878” is $9.97.

You may find the penny knives mixed in the stack hanging on the hook, OR, elsewhere. For example on the floor at the bottom of the rack.
The 2 look almost the same.
