Hello again, my people! This time, I’m gonna have to ask for recommendations on a 1xAA flashlight, because I got tired of the low battery life of AAA, and 18650 gets bulky as backup. These are the requirements:
• High CRI option (at least NW, CW is not gonna cut it)
• Reasonably compact, the more the better
• 14500 support not essential
• Budget-friendly, $40 at most
• Good runtimes for the platform
• Most UIs work, as long as I don’t have to hold the button to turn it off (I hate hate HATE that)
I currently have my eye on the Thrunite T10, since it’s a light that I’ve heard a lot of praise about, they offer it in NW, and I’m learning to not be prejudiced against reverse clicky (I learned that what I hate for real is “next-mode” memory). I’m certainly open to other suggestions, though.
Just for the sake of establishing a timeframe of relevance for this thread, I intend to order the light on the 25th.
I have been very impressed with my DQG tiny AA in NW. The tint is good, the output very good and the run times are quite respectable for an AA. The Stainless Steel is a bit heavier than aluminum, but more durable. It is a twisty, but has a “tighten for off” feature that keeps the head on when the light is off…
The size is excellent, small enough, but big enough to use easily.
Got mine at Gearbest during a flash sale, but they are available from several vendors.
That looks very similar to the Thorfire TG06 at least externally. No OPR with the TG06, I do see that. Not the brightest light, but that’s not it’s role or reason for it’s existence. I just got my TG06s so I can’t comment on run times and such. But it’s a nice little light if one doesn’t need a 18650 or 22650 sort of light. The TG06 is forward clicky.
