Oh well I guess that proves that the basic host of the S70 is a “white label” product that is sold to different flashlight manufacturers (maybe even together with a standard driver) and they just have to add the fitting LED board, put a label on it and go. You can only guess that the price of the basic host is, but If the chinese seller is still making profit with an end price of under 20 USD with batteries and a charger it can´t be much. So much for genuine Thorfire quality… Makes me think…

I’m actually interested in the 9 XM-L Sky Ray King they show, or the 5000 lumen XM-L2 light with a single emitter and single 18650. (yeah, right!)
Still though, the Sky Ray King is marked as such and with a reflector for 9 XM-L’s I can add one of Richards SRK 42mm drivers and more appropriate emitters. Wondering if I can bid on one of those from the States?
Edit: I see now that they’re actually offering it with from 3 to 9 emitters, your choice. And that same kind of ultra cheap price, albeit in Euro (pounds)

I just ordered as a guest and paid through PayPal, ended up as $23 with an expected delivery date between Aug 10th and Aug 15th. (slightly higher price as I chose the gold version)

Hmm what is going on here.
XHP-50’s have the same footprint and fit on the same mcpcb as XM-L2’s. With a battery tube carrying 4 cells, a little bit of wizardly converting 4P to 2S2P is all it takes. Well, and a driver change.
On the other hand, fill that bad boy with XP-L HI’s and let her rip… I like how the 9 emitter light looks like the old sunflower design from Robo car wash, from the late 60’s early 70’s. lol

In the “buy it now” listings the Boruit S70 & VastFire S70 are $55-$60 which is about the same price as a Thorfire S70 ?
The pictures & specs of the Boruit & VastFire S70 are identical to the Thorfire S70 even showing an illuminated mode switch & listing turbo with 3 minute step down, & in the pictures the XHP70 looks to be a genuine emitter.
Does anybody know if Lattice Bright have cloned the XHP70 yet ?
I know that they have an XHP50 clone but I have not heard of an XHP70 clone nor do they list one yet on their website.
At the end of the day I didn”t expect this VastFire S70 to be the same as my genuine S70 & bought it as a clone but if it is I will be very happy at the price & if not it should make a good host.

As long ad I can measure and compare these 7 led reflector and see this design that is different from all my 3 and 4 ledded srk clones I am happy (and well I really need to be able to test the future Q8 and this reflector so I need this one right…right?
And on a side note i do not like seeing Thorfire models for grabs.

The Miller I have seen Boruit & Thorfire products (headlamps) before that look identical & have identical specs & had always assumed that the Thorfire products had been cloned ?
Now with this “S70” you have Boruit & also “VastFire”, & that Jax Hunter looks & sounds spec wise exactly like a Thorfire light ?
I wouldn”t have put Jaxman down as a company that clones other peoples lights but then neither would I have though that Thorfire would ?
I would like to think that the Thorfire products are genuine & have been cloned as I like my Thorfire lights but who really knows what goes on in China ?
Or are all 4 companies, Thorfire, Boruit, VastFire & Jax buying from the same supplier ?
Well I won an auction on eBay for a s70 clone, comes with charger and batteries. Only paid $32.56. It’d will be interesting to see the quility or lack there of.

Old-Lumens discussed it quite a while back, there’s only a few sources for lights in China and the base lights get passed around and re-branded all the time. It’s how they do business. The factory can make 10,000 a month (or something like that) so they make em, spread em around to get em sold. Sometimes the finish is different, some small specs are different, but in the end, there’s just not that many flashlight manufacturers out there.
<—-built an SupFire M6 triple to ~5000 lumens back when they first came out. Have a FandyFire Rook with a hand polished mirror reflector from a couple of years ago. Have built several “soup can” lights for friends, which is how I learned to dislike them, poor quality, thin screw in emitter shelf, insufficient room for additional heat sinking of any real consequence for hot rodding. SupFire makes one of the best, which is why I still have mine (with an added tail clicky for lockout)
