GB Oficially closed/// Maxtoch 2X Shooter (new version)

+1 :open_mouth:

Wow. Gave the 2X a test run tonight. The high beam easily lit up 2 homes at distances of about 500 and 800 yards. Even the medium beam lit up the house at 500 yds. The low beam was brighter than my BLF Special Edition X6 on Turbo which is supposed to reach out over 400 meters. The beam is nice and tight but still gives good spillage.

Unfortunately, I did not have a decent target to light up in the 1000+ yard range. The 2X got warm after several minutes but never got hot.

About the only problem I had was toggling the tail cap between modes. It needs to be “positively” depressed to change modes but too hard turns it off. If the press is too “soft”, the mode may not change. It is also “hard” to distinguish between high and medium modes at close distances around 100 feet or so. I had to switch to low to figure out what mode I was in at close distances. I did not have this toggling issue with the remote pressure switch.

Finally, I mounted the light on an AR-15 handguard’s picatinny rail using a 1 inch extra high scope mount. I only used one mount and it was very solid feeling. I could add a second mount if necessary. The head of the light did show up in the 7 to 10 o’clock portion of my scope but just barely and it did not effect the view of the reticle through the scope. I did manage to temporarily blind myself by turning on the light in high mode and having the light bounce off the room/s wall while looking thru the scope. Ouch.

Much thanks again to all those who developed this light and the group buy.

Very happy with the physical condition of the 2x.

New m24 arrived with a few minor marks, tool marks below the anno on the switch and visual damage around the head screws and a tiny spot on the reflector.

And a new shorty tube for the old m24s to complete the collection.

Batteries are charging now. Tonight is going to be bright

There will be some blind roos around tomorrow morning…

Yup. I expect complaints from the neighbours

I will be watching the night sky from NZ….

Ok. Batteries came with 3.50v so it’s going to be “late” when I get to test them. Only up to 3.72v after 1hr 40min.

The main thing I learnt tonight… the S5 has no manual controls.

It’s finally here! Well, in the USPS system in Chicago at least.

“ISC CHICAGO IL (USPS), Processed Through Facility, Your item has been processed through our facility in ISC CHICAGO IL (USPS) at 5:00 am on August 3, 2016.”

Anyone out West whose package got routed through Chicago for some reason?

Mine finally showed some movement for the first time …… “Your item has been processed through our facility in ISC NEW YORK NY (USPS) at 8:40 am on August 3, 2016.” Yea !!! :arrow_right: :+1:

Mine says the same thing, in New York at 8:40am. Can’t wait.

Just did a google search for ISC Chicago. Doesn’t look good. :frowning:

Mine just arrived.
Many thanks for all the hard work to all involved.
I already have an older 2x Shooter. First thing noticed is that the new one is much lighter (by 117grams), a little shorter and not as bulky.

Mine still havent shown any movement, this waiting game is killing me. :rage:

Made it out of ISC Chicago after a day and into USPS’s facility. Sigh of relief.

Yay, my 2X Shooter arrived today. Sadly the package was soaking wet and the water was inside. :frowning: But everything is fine! The flashlight traveled to the netherlands and finally to germany. Dropped some Canwelum 2600mAh in and flashed myself  so **ing bright! The holster is a bit stiff and tight and the tactiacl rubber ring keeps sticking at the holster but better a tight holster then a to wide one!
The only thing I changed immediately, was to take off this shitty keyring on the lenyard, because these little suck* always scratch my flashlights. The paracord will also do a great job, and if not, I got plenty of it for backup :stuck_out_tongue:
Thanks to all GBs, to make it even possible to get one of these!
Luckily it arrived before my 3 weeks trip to russia! Think I will show this lightsaber Wladimir when I meet him

THX Guys!

Dang, mine hasn’t shown movement since Shenzhen on the 27th.
I had a different small item go through Shenzhen one day before, and it got here yesterday! Saw it when it got to Chicago, too (first time I’ve seen pre-delivery USPS tracking info on a Chinese tracking number). Yet no visible movement on the 2x yet.
To be fair, it’s only been a week and a half.
I just wish it would just indicate whether it had left China or not.

Mine left China with the main batch, and left NYC Wednesday AM but I think the Postman is walking slow :stuck_out_tongue: Maybe tomorrow or Monday it will show up.

Need cells though, I’m thin on 18650’s and when the Q8 materializes I’ll be desperate so I’ll be looking for a deal on button-top 30Q’s tomorrow. Funds were too tight to get MaxToch cells with the light but that’s better now  Gotta love the vagaries of self-employment where it’s always boom or bust but never normal!

Phil

Recieved mine today. I love it! Throws like crazy. It out throws my tm16gt. Great buy, Thanks robo819!

OK as much as I hate the white wall shots , the mist and/or fog just wont let me get any good beamshots out in the field the last 2 weeks.
I did some shots at the WHITE garage door with YELLOWISH / BIEGE paint around the door and almost a BARN RED trim on it.

My camera batteries died after the first shot and I moved up 3 feet (started at 18 feet) without noticing from the EC20 shot.
The shots with the C8 and 2X were done from 15 feet away.

I did NOT make any adjustments on what the camera captured and the shots are pretty dang close to what I see with my eyes out there………Still see NO green tint from either of my 2x’s and actually the colors on the garage appear closest to real life with the 2X…………….

In the order they were taken…….
