Test/Review of Sony US18650VTC6 3000mAh (Green)

Hello!

Do these batteries purport to be any better than LG HG2s a year later? }P

I'd take VTC5s any day.

Cheers ^:)

But HG2 and 30Q are already better than the VTC5…

The reason you see still see so much praise for the VTC5 is because of the vaping community, but their need for very high pulsing current are vastly different to ours…

Of course a matter of opinions. Vaping is not the only high current application, there are others yet, of course, for each battery a freak like me may decide to use to hack/overhaul/repair a tool's pack, more than a thousand may go to vapers' hands.

By the way, I'd love to see a well done review of the A123 systems ANR26650M1A (and or the newer ANR26650M1B) batteries, and see if those can really deliver what they claim to. :???:

Cheers ^:)

I'm not sure, but HKJ's calculated internal resistance of 0.03 for this VTC6 is, I think, the best we've seen? The other top cells, I think, are all 0.04 ohms.

I don't think it's the only important spec, but I find HKJ's internal resistance # the most important spec for DD FET based drivers.

Let’s hope Murata will continue with the Sony quality.

Thanks as always, HKJ.

Thanks for that great review m8, we have a new BLF fed dd king i presume

Yea, might be, but hope we can get them though.

We will Tom, sooner or later we will, have have dozen throwers vaiting for them impatiently

Mooch from reddit , confirmed it can be found also as Enercig EC-C6 . It has Sony VTC6 inside .

I’m a bit curious, why it could be their last?

Sony announced they will no longer produce batteries.

I do hope they sell their technology to another Japanese cell maker…

Tesla is building and will on completion have the largest lithium battery production facility in the world outside of Reno, Nevada in the U.S.

I would expect increases in battery technology to fill an enlarging amount of products using this energy technology.

Because they are selling their battery division, I did write that at in the notes.

Yes, to Murata, as HKJ said.

thanks for the review ,nice battery ,any link to buy them ?

Whoops sorry, I didn’t notice it. :person_facepalming: But thanks for the answer!

Personally I do not think it stops.
One of the battery manufacturing companies on behalf of N.A.S.A. It is not easy to stop ……………

Personal opinion of course …….

When they sell their battery division it will be difficult to make new cells.
But the buyer will probably continue the development and probably with the same people.

Now also nkon.nl sells them , but they ara a little expensive (9.35€) . I hope shops like banggood/gearbest get them soon .
