Review Eagle Eye X2R

I read somewhere EagleEye gives12% BLF discount on their Ali shop, although that may have been about their new 26650 light.

Has someone already modded the light to give 3A on the LED? 1.6 is a little to less for my purpose…

At 3A, the light on high will be only about 30-40% brighter than stock, but would deplete the battery about twice as fast. This light at “only” 1.6A is brighter than the paper numbers would let you believe. For the price, give it a shot, I am sure some good mods will come from this light eventually.

I have already several lights with XM-L2 operated at 3A and below. For my purpose this will not be enough. Battery deplation is not important, because enough spare batteries will be available and furthermore I could still switch to lower modes.

I would say the 1.6A at the tailcap is not that bad and makes it compatible for beginners and as a gift because you can use the light in high mode all the time, the head temperature was not to high. Of course its not the brightest light in that size, the Astrolux S1 or Convoy S2+ 7135*8 are better suited for brightness junkies.

Yeah, if you need the 3A or above, then the convoy or BLF A6 would be better for you. I have been less excited about lights over 3A for EDC due to battery issues lately. This X2R is pretty sweet for the onboard charging and the 1.6A is plenty bright for a tube light. Love my BLF A6, but it is a different monster with the heat and shorter run times on the higher modes.

Fantastic mod host though! (well, for what I want at least)

making this into triple xplhi or just changing the driver will not damage the function for charging?

well iam reading on youtube channel many customers comments about this lights-disfunctional after arrival…sadly.

I have bought 3 so far, gifted 2 of them to friends. All 3 are still alive and kicking.
Those same people on YT may not be smart enough to check retaining rings and are using “Fire” batteries. YT and Amazon reviews are not worth the time to watch or read 95% of them.

good to hear:)) i think also about this one.i hope, the lion chargers will go soon to history.this is much much usable.but the output is not ,what i want.so maybe fet driver featuring triple xpl:)) but also switch can be cheap…hm hm…

Eagle Eye has a bad habit of sending lights out with loose retaining rings. I’d bet thats the issues people are having. After posting my X5R review, I can’t count how many PM’s I got about faulty lights. All were fixed with tightening the retaining ring.

Nice review! I have one question:
What are the dimensions of the reflector?

Thank you

question-in the case of triple or just driver change for fet-do i need also change the switch?its too much amps for this one maybe.

I can’t say for sure, but the Eagle Eye X2R looks very much the same as the Convoy S2+, so I’d imagine the switch is the same. The Convoy goes up to 2.8A as standard and people have modified them for much more. If the switch isn’t up to the job, spares are available.

Myself, I believe that about 1.5A or 4*7135 current controllers is about as much as a tube light like that can sensibly manage, other people have different views.

i found so many budget recheargable flashlights?
x2r or x5r?
never bought recheargable flahslights before:))

they look similar, but threads does not fit, thew convoy Switch PCB is 1mm smaller
different spring lengs

The EE X-2R is my favourite sub-$15 bar none  (I think I got both of mine for under $14 each)
And I especially like the 3C tint… very natural-looking to me.

well.i would like to get this lights, but the output is really low…550lumens.this is for driver change…cant get this one:))

Its no pocket rocket as stock light

It has a 17mm shelf, so put in a 16mm DTP star and DD driver works nice
