HaikeLite Preview for MINI Triple-XHP70 prototypes--Discussion thread

I guess I didn’t make myself clear. All I’m asking is for turbo to be added to the memorized mode. So when that I turn it off on turbo, I can simply turn it on in turbo with s single click.
I still want the double click to turbo in the UI. So when it’s off, or if I’m a lower mode, double click to turbo!
Generally it would still be the same, if you want to turn in in high mode the next time u want the light on, just turn it off on high.

Two things I would like to know:

1) What is the parasitic drain value?
2) How repairable/mod-able is the light? Can you disassemble everything without tools? No glued bezel or other components?

From the prototype you can see the battery configuration .The bronze springs is not good enough. Lower-internal resistance components are required.

Custom-made springs and copper rings will come back tomorrow.
Parasitic drain will be tested next Monday when we come back from Holiday.

Will let you know the results

In your other thread I commented on the hole and rod configuration.
Applies here too

Hi blue8llz

I totally understood . The UI you suggested can make a quicker-access to turbo. I like the idea too.
We might try this UI in next batch.

Thanks for keeping us informed

Great! Now you will be different than all the companies! Back then, turbo was always in the sequence and it can be memorized. Now with all these higher powered lights, companies got too safe and leavin turbo out and making it hidden.

can the driver be flashed >? what ICU do you use
there is a new driver from tom withc would be make this light a winner but with this existing driver far to limited in 2016 i think this driver is more like early 2014

So, any news on these lights? I sure would like to see more pics and info

hurry up and start selling

Final products will get ready next week. I will update more detailed pictures and information by then.

The overall looks of final products dont have much difference from the prototype. The length of both lights is 3mm shorter ,however the netweight remain the same by adding copper contact rings. Sharp edges have been manchined to be smooth.

Thanks for the update! Must be exciting for you guys finally showing your final products you’ve been working hard for to the public

Q1:
No parastic drain has been detected. Will test it again in final product.

Q2:
The contact ring under the driver has been clamped, not be screwed-in. You will need a tool to pull it out by strong force if you want to dissassemble it.

Bezel is not glued.

Ahh,

No parasitic drain? You have electronic switch(es) right? So you should always have parasitic drain, unless it’s less than 1 microA and your DMM is not able to detect it…
Interested in the clamping ring of the driver. I’ll probably have a better look in the reviews… Thanks for the answers!

Ouch! Is it too late to get that changed to something more moddable/serviceable friendly? This doesn't sound good....

working very hard on it. Selling have to wait until our QC approved.

For you guys, I think it’s better waitting for a testing review.

Hi Haikelite,

A lot of people here mod the lights, and therefore are interested in easy access to the leds and drivers. I’m interested in easy access primarily for possible repairs. If a driver is busted, then the manufacturer can just send me a new one and I can fix it myself. Otherwise I have to send the light (shipping cost), and it’s gone for several months… I find a construction that you can completely disassemble without (special) tools also very elegant.
Anyhow, easy access to components is something to consider as well when manufacturing flashlights.

What are you going to mode in triple xhp70 light? What driver are you going to put in that will work with 2 electronic switches?

I don’t mod. But it seems a lot of modders want more output. you can use just 1 of the 2 switches, and the mini version only has one switch. Maybe shave the domes. Change the emitters to high CRI XHP70. Who knows, maybe Vinh will put his own driver if possible…

Ssshhh, don't tell him, but, resistor modding, or swapping wires, or potting, or ...
