Hope to Dive Into a DIY "Adventure" - Looking at Solar Force Combo or A Couple Tail Standing Versions: DROP- INS??

Hi Folks,

I'd like to try my hand at a DIY or 2 and I really want to start simply and slowly.

but DIY Master "E" suggested the tailstanding versions:

Actually, he highly recommended the M version but that doesn't seem to be available anymore. I was warned to stay away from Solar Force Drop-Ins. So ... what's good that will fit? I'd really appreciate some advice since I have no idea what I'm doing.
