There are a lot of this type out there, type just lantern in the search field on DX or so….
I haven’t bought one but my fingers are itchy every time , because of the low price and the fact that I have not such a flashlight.
Not sure why there is a strobe mode, but that is standard for the Chinese……
I have one like this that I bought ages ago, and it works great, but it has an issue that pretty much renders it useless and downright dangerous.
The led and battery are separated from the outside aluminum barrel by the plastic sleeve, so the led heats up the battery and cannot get rid of heat correctly. The excess heat from the led goes directly into the battery, which is connected to the case at the bottom of the case, but in order for the heat to escape, it has to go through the battery, which gets hotter than a stove top. This one may have a different setup, but I think not looking at it.
Since heat destroys li-ion batteries, this setup is not a good idea, let alone any safety issues caused by an overheated li-ion battery.
Great idea, but doesn’t work right in real life. At least in the one i have. Sorry to be a balloon burster.
