Looks good on your Citizen. It seems to be a very popular band. BTW, I just took out the last link. All 6 of them. That weird becuase I have an average sized wrist at 7.25”.
I must have removed 2 as i still have 4 links left in and have the latch part on the max(of 3 fine adjustments). Just looked now and one has the pin undone! Need to go and nip it up now lol

Ven, what’s your wrist size? To prevent your pins to falling out, put a tiny drop of removable loctite on the trailing end. Wipe any excess off before it dries.
Ven, I used Loctite on my Movado Valor’s band. One pin kept creeping out so I put a tiny amount on the trailing edge of that pin. I’ve never had a problem again. I’ve since sold that watch. I do miss it.
BTW, those are finger prints, not scratches. It’s the only picture I have of it.
Thanks glenn, thats the 1st time i have had a pin come out…………..maybe 6+months(cant even remember when i got the bracelet). Will keep an eye on it, if persists it will get a dab of loctite
Hello everyone. Sorry to derail this thread a little, but I need some help from the watch guys
(I’m more into knives and I try not to get interested in other stuff like lights, lighters, fidget tools, watches and whatnot…
Anyways, I own a Skagen watch (809XLTBLN) and I’m kinda bored to repair the leather straps every half year.
I was considering making a new one, sewn, not glued, but I have more other projects to finish.
The metal band is well above € 50, maybe one of you watch pros knows where to get it cheaper or maybe a China made version.
The biggest problem is that the wristband is not held with pins like usually but the strap is held with 2 little screws.
On the leather version there’s a thin metal sheet with 2 holes for the screws between the 2 sheets of leather.
As an aspiring watch-collector, with only 2 Citizens and 1 Seiko :), does anyone know of a chronograph watch that you can just turn the outside bezel to 30 minutes, for example, and it chimes an alarm when the time is up?
Don’t really want to use a digital watch if possible.
Thanks for any suggestions
Lou.

I’ve never seen that, I think the separate spring and bell would double the size of the watch.
It’s sad because most quartz watches have alarms that are too quiet, especially if they are also waterproof.
(Speaker is inside the waterproofing, plus usually in the back against your wrist.)

I’ve never seen it either but had just a glimmer of hope, thanks for squashing it.

I’ve been collecting watches for some 30 years and never seen a wrist watch with rotating bezel alarm. The Seiko Bell Matic with internal rotating alarm set bezel ring is as close to what desire that I have seen. Although not a chronograph it is automatic. Rather small on the wrist (36mm) compared to most of today’s 40mm plus diameter watches.

I admit that I took a Long look on an used -1987 Rolex Airking. That older style + size somehow catches my eye….
Ha ha Glenn, not quite , I am a poor man and only have a couple.
I normally don’t like Rolex’s, but this one is beautiful.

About 8” with a quick measure now(had to use a fatmax tape measure lol )
Checked the other screws and all secure, so nipped this one up good………….if comes loose i will use some loctite from work

Why did I sell this watch? I’ll never know. Biggest mistake I ever made in the watch world. It’s a Fortis Spacematic Automatic.

I'm not sure if this will help, but...
I get stainless steel mesh bands from "goodcheapman" on eBay:
http://stores.ebay.com/jrrs7777
I learned about him on watchuseek.com:

How to move a thread
I bought from him somthing like this and it lasted little less than 2 year EDC. It was OK
This is my latest purchase from goodcheapman:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/20mm-stainless-steel-watch-mesh-bracelet-black-0-8mm-wire-wristband-JRRS7777-/192118577402
I've had it about 2 years, and I love it.
According to my research, if you want higher quality stainless steel mesh than what goodcheapman has, it's going to be quite a bit more expensive.

I have the exact same opinion: this may be the Rolex that pleases my eye the most….
Thank you
