Garry, if you end up with the Firefly version and I get the 3 lumen version I will swap with you. Wink

Sounds good to me! But then again, if yours is pink and mine is black it might be a different story!

Why is this always the argument?  How many people actually prepare to be stuck in the dark for days on end!  I can understand some people preparing for this kind of situation (like cavers or people who live in extreme environments), but not me.

-Garry

You're the guy that goes into old mines for a living! What are you saying? LOL!  If anyone should use that argument you should. Wink

I always expect the worse and am happy when things go well. You never know when power goes out in a large building, you get trapped in an elevator or a basement, etc...  I always remember when I was in a huge lava tube on Mt Shasta and how the light from my crappy watch let me see everything. A buddy was on the Appalachian trail on a moonless night and he couldn't see his hand in front of his face.  He used the Indiglo on his Timex to see the trail and get back to his car.  It's those unexpected times when you want a small light that will provide just enough light and run seemingly forever.

Also, like I said...3 lumens to me is way too much light when all I need is enough to see by.

My ITP A3 EOS just quit working. This should make a great replacement. Thanks for the $5 deal.

I got one too.  However this looks like a new store and I am a little suspicious on why they need my birthdate during registration.

3 lumens I can understand, but can you see anything with 0.04 ?

You'd be surprised.  If you already have trouble seeing in the dark it will do you no good but if you already have decent night vision it's amazing how well you can see with that little bit without disturbing anyone else who might be near.

To me, 3 lumens is crazy bright! My ZL SC60 has 2 low modes... 2 lumens and 0.2 lumen. 2 lumen is way too bright in the morning when I get dressed.  I can ceiling bounce it and see everything.  The .2 lumen is very bright but not harsh.   .04 lumen is crazy low but if you were ever trapped in the pitch black it would be plenty and even on a AAA it would run for days on end.

Then I hope I will not be getting the 3 lumen version. In your opinion do you prefer something like 0.1-0.2 lumens, or even 0.04 is usable?

Actually, Taz, this will be (hopefully) my first light with a firefly mode like this.  I know I prefer the .2 lumen mode on my SC60 over the 2 lumen.  The difference is not quite as great as you'd think so I think that the .04 will definitely be good enough for seeing a few feet in front of you or checking your watch without disturbing anyone else.

No, no 10440 support, at least official support. Only AA 1,2 or 1,5 volt. However it seems to perform better with alkalines than NiMh

Awesome deal - thanks for posting. I just had my bike mechanic ask me to order him a tiny light like my Eoslamp SP11 ($20). This fits the bill and I ordered 2 for the same price - works out to $10 apiece!

Do we know if this online store is really part of the actual Thrunite company, or is it an individual seller who stocks this brand? I find it wee bit strange that, if it is the same company, they are using different hosting providers...

That's a good point since they are already shipping the one  buying a second at regular price and free shipped is smart ..

I can see the company taking a hit by selling them for $5 but I don't see an individual doing that. It's seems to be legit. They are in the Marketplace over at CPF as well.

True, after all if it was a scam then we'd get the money back from PayPal. From my brief look over www.thrunite.com though I didn't see any mention or link to the online store, I don't understand why... Although they do link to the same fb account...
