I have some 4k content “backed up” on my HTPC with an 8TB HD, but I don’t consider it a permanent solution since I don’t have enough room for redundancy. Anything I want “permanently” I own on disk. That way I get lossless audio and Extras too. I’ll check out Blacklist sometime Thumbs Up

The Suicide Squad (2021)

If there is another Suicide Squad movie after this one, you won’t catch me watching it. (snip)

I kinda agree. I’ve now read several positive reviews of this one and I just don’t get it. If you were to take the story elements/ideas themselves, I think it could’ve been a good if not great movie, but it was horribly executed, so much so that in several places I was just thinking “wtf??” (Is Harley just pooping colors???!!) Someone has some ‘splaining to do..or not.

Maybe a Zack Snyder-type cut would help…as long as it’s not 4 hours long Silly

It’s good to confirm I’m not the only one who wasn’t ecstatic about the movie. It’s hard for me to even pinpoint exactly where the execution goes wrong but the whole thing feels so _off _to me.

Regarding the Harley Quinn “fight” I think the CGI flower confetti everywhere was a really bad decision. It made me think about the action too much. I was snapped me back to reality as I started wondering if the flowers got the movie a lower MPAA rating. Actually, that’s the second time; I was snapped back to reality earlier when the non-muscular 125lb woman somehow overpowered and snapped the neck of a bodybuilder twice her size. That and her walking into rooms full of enemies and shooting everyone without so much as getting grazed. Apparently there is nothing so special about Deadshot after all…

I saw Final Destination 5 (2011).

[One of my favorite movies of all time.]

This movie is excellent.

It's the best film in the series, with the best acting and the violence is done the best.

The opening credits are done extremely well.

The last two scenes are impressive, which is nice to have a strong ending.

It's kinda surprising for a Part 5 of a series to be so good.

The Orphanage [2007]

The Orphanage might be more thriller than horror movie, but it can be genuinely creepy at times. This is one of those movies that I wish I could watch again for the first time due to the mystery of it. I think that some story elements are left a little too open for interpretation in a way that makes theory-crafting difficult. Some movies, like The Prestige, are great second watches because you get to reanalyze the performances in a new context. The Orphanage seems to be thoughtful on more of a pseudo-spiritual level though rather than a cerebral one. The questions it raises are more important than the answers it doesn’t supply.

The Dig

Seconded. I’ve seen it twice. Once with a close friend another time with my mother while she was recuperating from an accident. It’s slow, by today’s standards. But that’s a good thing. You almost feel like this was made a couple decades ago and remastered.

I love the feeling of history conveyed.

Another media production with that kind of feeling is “The Detectorists.” It’s a TV series, 3 seasons. It’s WEIRD at first, but then you get into it. The acting is truly superb. Very real people. Diana Rigg is in it, as well as her daughter (small parts). Plus that very recognizable pirate from Pirates of the Caribbean movie series.

I’ve been meaning to watch The Dig but keep putting it off. I’ll have to do it now…

As far as FD 5, I agree, it’s very good in the series and I did NOT see that coming.
If you liked the first one but started to get tired after so many sequels, at least see that one..after 1 & probably 2 of course (who doesn’t like Ali Larter?) Silly

The Orphanage (2007) sounds like a good movie for me to take on vacation with me that my wife will like, ty

I saw A Quiet Place Part II (2020).

This movie is a disappointment.

I really liked Part 1, but did not like Part 2.

The acting and music are top notch.

The problem is that the movie is extremely slow.

I much prefer tightly edited films.

About half of Part 2 could have been cut, and the movie would have been much more entertaining.

Also, the ending is incredibly weak.

I was talking to a friend about movies couple days ago and he mentioned Pandorum.
Then I realized, it was one of many, many other movies that… for whatever reason…
I started watching but never finished.
Finally I was able to see the whole movie last night.

It was really good !!!

Yea that’s definitly a good movie.

If you liked that, you might also like Moon [2009] and Europa Report [2013]

Moon’s kinda like Oblivion [2013] , but in some ways better (I think). I guess it depends on Tom Cruise vs Sam Rockwell

I don’t think that Moon and Oblivion have much in common besides both being sci-fi movies with small casts. Moon is a much more cerebral experience that relies heavily on Sam Rockwell and his performance. Oblivion, on the other hand, has action and the sets and props are eye-candy. They are both good movies but very different.

well, folks….would you like to be IN a big-time movie?
here is how…quote:

Hollywood is embracing deepfakes, and we all can be a part of it: Warner Bros. has tapped synthetic media startup D-ID to promote its new movie “Reminiscence.”
A new website allows anyone to upload a photo, which D-ID’s AI then turns into a moving deepfake video sequence in a short video clip promoting the film.

I saw The Suicide Squad (2021).

[One of my favorite movies of all time.]

This movie is superb.

The acting is great for an action film.

The music is excellent.

The action sequences are amazing.

The movie also has a good sense of humor.

This is one of the best DC movies I have seen.
