I have seen that version advertised somewhere else too I think, maybe it is an XP-E R2 in both and DX mistyped it as XR-E whereas the others are making the common exaggeration to XP-G R5?
I would actually prefer an XR-E version for the tighter viewing angle (better throw) and the size of the LED package meaning it would have to be well centred in that reflector.
DX photos show 2 off 14500 batts next to the light. Spec reads “Digital regulated 3500mA”, heading says 2 AA!
