How did you come up with your screen name?

Does it mean something/random? Explain. My dogs name was Buddy & I have 63 Buick with a Dynaflow transmission hence. budynabuick (one D). Lets hear it please. If this has been done (sorry) I did not see it. Edit title .Thanks scaru.

Keith (AKA, budynabuick)

Scaru goes back to 2005 when I joined World of Warcraft. It just came up as a suggested name and I picked it and have been using it ever since.

I came up with it in 1984 during a brief Three Stooges revival…there was a hit song, the Curly Shuffle, and I was thinking of getting custom plates on my car at the time. I didn’t, but I’ve used the name since as it’s always available!

Back in the 80's when America Online came to the Chicago area offering dial up internet service I joined. I needed a screen name and being a telephone man requested Telman, that was already taken so they offered Telman2. I took it and have been using it on various services for about 30 years now.

One of the X-Men films came out and I searched a username for some meaningless board.. Wolverine and Magneto were too mainstream and "Nightcrawler" was already taken.. so I chose this nick and kept it because of laziness. :D

Just noticed the typo in the title. You may want to change that.

On a busy day in my barbershop , a regular customer came in and said by way of greeting " Jack the clipper ! "

Several of the customers that were waiting liked the name so well that they began to call me Jack the clipper .

I had a sign made with Jack the Clipper on it and now everyone knows me by that handle .

Harhahh. That was you then on WOF! Can you remember how your a$$ got kicked in several game sessions by a player named back then w4rri0rzzz?

That was me. And i had whopped your b*tt!! that was much fun harhaah

Love the name.

I’ve had this name since 2000 when I became an electrical apprentice. The 187 is code for murder :open_mouth:

Oh you mean the level 5 noob I killed. Does seem slightly familiar. :P

Actually comes from another hobby of mine that some say I take too seriously. Pellet lobbing by way of air IE airguns.
Used to tune the spring loaded ones and the new ones that are pre charged pneumatics or PCP for short - its the same.

It comes from when as kids we sould fire our Diana´s and Weihrauch break barrel springers and when we next broke the barrel open and blew through it a smal cloudy puff of smoke came out. Led + smoke =Ledsmoke.
FFWD to present day and i find it is a descriptive nick in this hobby. I push anything I mod to well beyond specs and thus sometimes let that magic smoke out of the led emitters. Led + smoke = Ledsmoke.

Win win i guess

A mis-remember of the middle name of Herb Tarlek (WKRP in Cincinnati). Turns out his “real” middle name was Ruggles.

Back in 1988 I retired from the Army and went to work for a small east coast computer company. My 1st manager gave me my user name by throwing away the “s” from my first & last name.

I’ve used it everywhere ever since.
