Why Meritline doesn’t ship to Greece???

Made by 6pcs CREE XM-L T6 LED…

Difference between both flashlights (if the pictures are correct):

Everbuying: Ultrafire and SMO reflector

Meritline: Longfire, OP reflector, GITD o-ring on the lense.

The write-up states a smooth reflector, but the pics show an OP.

Manafont has a new RONGLi (wrongly???) branded XM-L C8 for $13.91! From the pics, it looks like it has a deeper-than-normal textured reflector and GITD O-ring. Anybody up for buying this one to post a review? http://www.manafont.com/product_info.php/rongli-c8-cree-xml-t6-5mode-1600lumen-led-flashlight-black-18650-p-10724

I haven't purchased this light since my C8 need has already been filled, but it looks like a decent deal except for the weird reflector... Why a textured reflector on what is basically a compact thrower design?

Hahaha, that wRONGLi is what I actually received when I ordered the C8 in the OP from Meritline last month. The reflector is half OP, half smooth, and works well. Good throw, smooth hotspot and no rings. Pity that the lens on the emitter was scratched up and dirty, shows up in the beam pattern.

So, you get what you pay for. Missing o-rings, cracked glass on the front lens, etc. Functions fine after some TLC. No memory, but starts on high after about 10 seconds. God awful PWM.

Also: I think I measured ~1.8A at the tail on a half depleted 18650. I took the pill out and applied a bunch of thermal compound, the head now gets nice and warm after half a minute on high.

Edit: Just did a measurement with a hot off the charger cell at 4.18V and got 3.1A at the tail.

The Meritline and the manafont ones, if there identical that’s ok by me. If there not ill do a comparison

I ordered the RongLi Manafont one yesterday. And the replacement aluminum C8 smooth reflector to go with it just for fun.

Be interesting to compare the two.

There seems to be too much pressure being put on the edges of the front glass, I see several small fractures that could compromise water resistance.

But hey, who cares for $14 shipped?

An aluminum version of the “SOP” reflector would be nice.

My friend got the Meritline one of these and it quit working after one month. Could have been a fluke, though. The Everbuying one looks to be much better quality.

this is the Q5 version for 7.99 shipped  i pulled trigger just to get the host.

Excellent price there just for the host mate - thanks for the link.

Cheers … good to see someone else from Adelaide here!

Let us know how that works out… If it has the deeper reflector like it looks, then the generic C8 reflector may not fit as it’s about 10mm shorter than the deep reflector in my no-name C8 I bought from eBay…

Really impressed with it for the money.

Keltex, you were right. It has a MUCH deeper reflector than a standard C8.

I can post pics if anyone is interested, but it would be a nice light for even more money.

- Glass lens

- Good anodization

- Best beam pattern of anything I own. Even with a flaw in the reflector, the beam is perfect.

  • Only bad thing on the light is the reflector, which has a couple of pretty serious flaws.

For the money, it’s steal.

My eBay q5 took a brass c8 pill, but the stock reflector does not want to mate to the xm-l (slight difference in pill height, no isolation disk etc) I’ve ordered an xm-l reflector to see if that works, they MAY be different deapths, I won’t know till I get it. If it won’t work I’ll keep the q5 and change the driver, its my work light and does the job so well, just the driver starts on epilectic mode for some reason. It’s only a half press away from high and I’ve adapted but a good driver would make my light an excellent product, if the xm-l does not work out, what the hell the driver and star will serve other lights so no worries.

What I did realise was that the pill, u2 emitter and driver plus host cost put me close to the price of an xintd c8…… Nice though my light is, I would just get an xintd c8 given the choice.

ah u from adelaide too ? kool

i recieved mine been playing with it. it has a really nice throw for 7.99 torch lol, droped it few times on hard concrete but it still works fine and can throw a nice beam atleast 200meters  overall good torch for price. better thrower then my sr-5 skyray but builtquality isnt as good. i am happy with both flashlights so far. scarying the neighbour hood cat away from my van! “

Both Arthur ones I ordered are the Rongli with the mixed reflector, part OP part smooth. Beams are decent, throwy for there size. Good bang for your buck

I’m interested in pics if you get around to it.

Just now getting this.

Will try to take some pics and upload them tonight.
