Hello Everyone, i am Xiotis (“Χιώτης” which in Greek describes “a person who comes from the Greek island of Χιος” -or Chios)

Recently landed (with Olympic Airlines as you may have noticed… ) in this nice Forum and already enjoy the plethora of flashlights topics as well as the good sense of humor from older members
Just to say a few words about me, i have recently started the hobby of flashlight collecting, limiting myself to lights using conventional batteries only (AA,AAA and some D).
I also like photography so i try to combine both hobbies by shooting my flashlights in every aspect of their daily life. It is macro photography that i enjoy the most.
Well, that’s it for starts and i guess we shall be seeing each other in the forum!
Welcome to BLF, Xiotis. I’m curious about that picture; is that snow on the ground? I mean, it snows in Greece? I wouldn’t think thats possible. Then again, I’m much more of a looker than a thinker, so what can you expect?
Welcome to the forum. Looks like a Greek invasion around here lately. Pretty cool. You should check out some of the’s work if you are interested in combining your flashlight and photography hobbies.

@cone: you are right this is snow, but it was snowy at the place of the arrival, Greece is sunny, at least weather-wise…

I noticed that there are a lot of greek members joining BLF lately, are you guys connected thru a forum or something else over there? Just wondering, how are things going over there? I read that you guys are having a hard time with the economy.

@AlexGT, Actually there is not any exclusive forum for flashlights in Greece but rather subcategories belonging to bigger forums that include flashlights as well.
I have noticed only one or two members that i know from the Greek forum. Most of the rest, i don’t know but i am glad they are here :bigsmile:
Concerning the situation in Greece, and thanks for asking, i can say that Greece has seen both worse as well as better days.
In end i know that will survive as we have done for the last 4000 years. The only difference is that in the past the wars were fought with armies.
Today, wars are fought with money, markets and bankers and we surely don’t know how to play the game…
