hi Guys… came across this on the Keep-power site and though you might be interested (If you have not seen them before):
They look interesting, has anyone on here used them? at 1.2V and 4500mAh they only have a capacity of 5.4Wh (about 1/2 of the best 18650s available) however may offer a safe chemistry for those looking for a p60 sized light as well as good capacity vs size without going multi AA.
I have not used these cells but have used Tenergy NiMH 4/3AF 4200ma. On dischage tests on my hobby charger got about 3900ma at 2A. I use these on my PT54 red with three cells built on a TR1200 host using an aspherical lens. This direct drive configuration pushes the emitter with in my parameters of <3.5v at 12A+ . With the higher ampere output I think these cells compare more towards IMR or lifepo4 than conventional Li-ion chemistry. I have noticed that the amp discharge increases going from 2 cells (5a iirc) to 3 cells (12a). Also have seen this with other sizes of NiMH cells I have used in the direct drive configuration. In this hobby ICR Li-ion are the rage but depending on application other chemistry batteries can be a better choice. Who sells this brand of NiMH batteries?
It would be cool if someone could modify the skyray king one of those 4P lights to be 4S instead of 4P, that would give 4.8V to the driver but you would only have 4500mAh, you could do twice that with even budget 18650s when they are 4P.
